Phuket - Public Transport- Phuket Smart Bus

Guest staying in Sparrow Villa have two bus station in Kamala to go to Patong Jungcelon Shopping Mall , Karon Circle , Kata Night Market and Rawai beach. The opposite way , guest can go Surin Beach, Bangtao Beach, Cherng Thalay, Thalang and lastly Phuket International Airport. The first is in front of Phuket FataSea and the second is the bus station in front of Kamala Big ‘C’ . It is very convenient to stay at the Villa.

Phuket Smart Bus Co., Ltd. to operate mass transit in Phuket. The public bus is very comfortable and modern. The smart card payment system. The technology is also available to helpsmart bus users to check their travel times, including waiting times through www.choop.me, and to focus on solving traffic problems within the province.The operation has progressed to serve thepublic and tourists already.
I happy to tell my guest, the Smart Bus has two stop at Kamala, Big ‘C’ and Phuket fatasea . Guest who want to go to go to Patong Jungcelon can board at Big ‘C’ super market, the bus fare is only 50 Thai baht.
The guest that like to take from the Phuket international airport to the villa should drop at Big ‘C’ and the fare is only 150Thai baht but I would remind guest they still need to cover a distance to the villa. I would still advise my guest to rent car at airport which roughly cost 1300 Thai baht per day.

Phuket Patong - Malin Plaza

In 12km from Sparrow Villa is Marlin Plaza which you can reach in 24min by Car. I would highly recommend my guest to visit for cheap BBQ seafood and Thai street food. This place is not so crowded as compare to other night market and you will have table and chair to eat your food. Malin Plaza Patong offers the fair prices and impressive range of souvenirs of some of Phuket’s bustling and busy markets, but in a cooler environment and with a great range of cheap food available around it. Although not generally as busy as the likes of Phuket Town’s weekend market, this nightly shopping option is nonetheless popular and highly thought of.
The highlight of the market is the impressive array of food stands in front of the roofed area. These serve up anything from Thai street food classics to fried chicken and chips, crepes, fresh ice cream, sushi, 90-baht cocktails and fresh fruit. There are some stalls which specialise in halal food, which is also available at the Al Basha Restaurant, which is to one side of Malin Plaza Patong. The Italian Da Mario Restaurant is next door to that. The food throughout the market is very good, by street food standards, is safe and cheap.

Phuket Town - Chillva Night Market

Chillva Market Phuket is 18km from the Sparrow Villa and it take 34min to reach by Car. It is a cool, trendy night market with a somewhat bohemian vibe and an impressive selection of food, fashion and other stalls, despite a relatively small size. Hard to miss by the side of Yaowarat Road (which runs by Tesco Lotus, on the way towards Phuket Town), it has a distinctive look created by the use of colourful shipping containers as shopfronts. The stores in the upcycled containers are open every day from 16:00, but the best time to visit is on Thursday, Friday or Saturday, when the flea market comes to town, setting up in tents and little hawker stalls to fill the 6,400 sqm marketplace to capacity.
At the heart of the market is a small stage with a pond behind and amphitheatre in front, which sees presentations and music when the market is in full swing.
Food vendors make up probably slightly more than half of the stalls and the permanent stores, with funky pubs, chic coffee shops, fruity ice cream shops and a wide selection of street foods. Prices are generally very low, with even big servings from the more established stores rarely exceeding a couple of hundred baht. Thanks to its late opening hour, Chillva Market Phuket isn’t too stuffy and, being quite small, taking a leisurely walk around won’t either exhaust you or take you half the night. I recommend visiting after 18:00 as the air is cooler and the market has a much livelier atmosphere as more people arrive to look around or just hang out and socialise.

Phuket Patong - Banzaan Seafood Market (lunch) / Banzaan Night Market (dinner)

Banzaan fresh seafood Market at Patong is only 11km from Sparrow Villa and you can reach by Car in 21 min. I would recommend seafood lover guest to go there for cheap seafood lunch . You need to buy your own seafood a the fresh market and go upstairs to let the kitchen station cook for you for a nominal cost.

Banzaan Night Market is just outside the Banzaan Market. When night fall there are a lot of make shift seafood store , BBQ station and local Thai street food will start to occupy the outside road. You will be spoil for food, It is a must visit for guest for dinner.

Many visitors will enjoy exploring Banzaan Market in Patong, a modern-looking Thai fresh market on Sai Kor Road, right behind the megamall Jungceylon. Basically, you can get anything that one would expect from a local market here but in a much more pleasant environment. Prices are reasonable.
Once inside Banzaan market, shoppers will notice specific sections for fresh food, meat, seafood, vegetables, flowers, Thai sweets and dried goods, as well as a selection of bizarre-looking but delicious fruits like durian. All are neatly presented; even the pigs hanging upside down are arranged neatly. And don’t miss a chance to sample some fresh exotic drinks such as sugarcane, coconut and guava juice.

The big upstairs food court features a comfortable and clean dining space with cook kitchen station. They will cook your fresh seafood for a cost. Buy your own fish or seafood from the down stairs and the chef here will cook in whatever way you want. All ingredients are fresh. You can choose the style from Chinese, Indian or Thailand chef to cook for you.
The are also stores consists mainly of Thai food and lunch here will probably cost you less than 100 baht.
Also, there are many small kiosks selling clothes, shoes, children’s toys, gifts, artificial orchids and other types of flowers.

Phuket - Surin Beach

On the right side of Sparrow Villa is the famous Surin Beach . It is only 5.2km from Sparrow Villa, you can reach in 10min by Car.
Surin Beach is a cool and sophisticated place to relax on fine white sand, with a glittering blue sea stretching out before you. Its calm, clear waters are great for snorkelling and kayaking while boogie boarding and surfing are also popular activities on the 1km-long beach. With lively beach clubs at either end, it is a great place for a chilled-out afternoon, a stunning sunset, and a fun evening. You will find Surin Beach along Millionaire’s Row on Phuket’s west coast, surrounded by boutique shops, high-end resorts and the residences of the rich and famous. That does not mean that it is exclusively for the use of those with money to burn however. During the high season, it is one of the island’s busier places, popular with tourists and locals alike. It is even popular throughout the low season, though the strong currents that come at this time mean that swimmers should be very careful.

Phuket Patong - Patong Beach

On the Left side of Sparrow Villa is Patong Beach. It is the most famous beach on Phuket. It is only 8.5km from Sparrow Villa, you can reach in 14min by Car.

Patong Beach has its wide variety of activities and nightlife, Patong is an ideal place to party and play. By night the town has a bustling nightlife which includes literally hundreds of restaurants, beer bars, Go Go Bars and of course night clubs. The nightlife is centred around Soi Bangla (Bangla Road) however there are quiet parts of town. Visitors hoping for a glimpse into the exotic East might not find it here, though the steaming hot streets, neon lights and chaotic atmosphere of Patong can be overwhelming for the new arrival. The key to full enjoyment of the place is to pace yourself, drink lots of water and learn the meaning of 'mai pen rai' - which translates roughly to 'It doesn't matter' or 'Don't worry, be happy'. Phuket Kamala - Smile Bar Restaurant

This beach side restaurant is one of my favorite. It located at Kamala beach, 6 minutes by car from the Sparrow Villa and 10min from Patong Beach. Here you can relax and enjoy your whole vacation time. The restaurant will serve you good food from early morning to late into the night. The kitchen is open from 09.00 am in the morning to 11.00 pm . The beach bar is open all day, every day and closes at 02.00 am or when our last customers says goodnight 🙂

This restaurant is well known in the area for their clean food and good taste; serve mainly Thai food but have European specialties’, vegetarian and a children’s menu. The restaurant also have a live barbecue every night in the high season. They grill the meat over an open fireplace and its Chicken, Pork or Beef and of course grilled fresh seafood! You can choose from having your dinner in your own bungalow, in the nice restaurant or right on the beach, within a few feet from the waterline. The staff is very skilled and service minded and will fulfill your every need to guarantee your family an amazing vacation.

Kamala beach is a nice white sand beach with a lot of space for children and teenagers to play. The wave varies from high tide in the morning to low tide in the afternoon but it’s mostly very calm here. Phuket Fanta Sea is close by, Kamala town and the Friday Open market is just a few minutes away, all in walking distance.

Phuket Kamala - Laem Singh ViewPoint

In 8min by car from the villa, guest can visit Laem Singh ViewPoint. It is a popular stop on the coast road between Kamala Beach and Surin Beach. Offering a pleasant place to rest a while, with seating and a roof providing shelter from the sun, you can enjoy great views to the south across the namesake beach below and it is a popular place for watching Phuket’s impressive sunsets.
There is limited roadside parking available on what amounts to a layby in front of the Laem Singh Viewpoint and it quickly fills up around sunset. If you want to see the sunset from the viewpoint yourself, you should come a little bit early to ensure you get a good, unobstructed view. The view during the day is just as good and is generally less hindered by other people enjoying it. You should allow around 10 minutes to reach the viewpoint from Kamala Beach.

Phuket Kamala - Morning Street Food

When guest stay in Sparrow Villa, be sure to visit the Kamala morning street food. The location is just opposite Big C supermarket. They are a lot of pop up food carts along the Kamala main road during the morning hours. These food carts started selling very early around 7am to 12pm. A lot of local town people and construction workers will just stop by the road side to buy their breakfast. Guest can buy the famous ice Thai tea, coffee, fried chicken, porridge, roast pork, bbq pork and many local delights, you will be spoil for choices.
I would advise that guest ride the villa bicycle to buy their breakfast and bring back to villa to enjoy the food. It will be a cheap and wonderful breakfast to eat in the comfort of home, definitely something to remember for your vocation. When my family stay in the villa, every morning I will go and buy back, until now I still like it so much. These are the real Thai food that local people eat, so much different from the touristy Thai restaurant at the beach. Guest who want to experience the real local Thai food should definitely visit. The distance is 1.9km and journey by bicycle will only take 7min. If you drive , 5 min you will reach.

Phuket Kamala Beach- Traditional Thai Food Beach Market

In 7min by Car from the villa, you can reach the Thai food Beach Market. These are Makeshift stalls pop up along the road facing the beach. There are many traders selling traditional Thai seafood which are very authentic local Thai food and are of very reasonable price. There are also tables and chairs set up for customers to enjoy their food with fantastic sea view. I highly recommend to go for breakfast and lunch. In the the same location there are also stalls selling fruit, veg, handicrafts, swimming wears, floats and etc.

Phuket Kamala - Cafe Del Mar ( Beach Club)

A must visit and not far from my Villa is Café del Mar Phuket is a classy beach club from the world-famous brand originating out of Ibiza. It brings the sophisticated party atmosphere of its namesake to the northern end of Kamala Beach, with a high-quality setting and a great soundtrack of chill-out beats. Situated right next to the modern and stylish HQ Beach Lounge, Café del Mar has a more rustic beach-hut-esque look, with a thatch-roofed main bar at its heart. To one side of it is shaded seating on comfortable sofas, while cabanas and large beds occupy a patch of sand to the other side. Behind the bar is an impressively large swimming pool, with single sun loungers and more beds and cabanas around it, as well as a poolside swim-up bar.

Being situated right on Kamala Beach, Café del Mar Phuket is a great place to enjoy a few sundowner cocktails from the selection of classic and signature sips. There’s also a modest choice of Thai and international snacks available. The higher-than-average price range attracts a sophisticated but fun-loving crowd, who enjoy smooth house music played by resident and guest DJs, accompanied by a live saxophonist.
