Transportation can often be a headache in Phuket. We’ve heard so many comments that transportation is expensive, it’s not convenient or efficient. If you choose to stay in Kata Ocean View, we’d like to share these tips with you:

• Chose our airport pick-up and drop off. If you take a taxi at the airport, the charge is 1,000THB, same as us (it's true, we are not like those 5 stars hotel that set a high price for transportation). You will avoid all the possible happenings like driver can't speak English, can't find the way, too dark at night (some roads are not well lit), or getting lost somewhere.

• Don't try the public bus - there's no schedule, no real stop for the so-called public bus, you might wait on the road for hours without knowing what to do

• Don't think you can catch a taxi on the road - in Phuket you always need to find a taxi station to get a taxi as all taxis don’t use the meter

• Renting a car is a great idea - you can choose to rent from the airport (many services), or rent a car from Kata Ocean View Residence

• Rent a motor bike - however, it’s not legal if you don't have a local license, it's easy to move around, but you need to be very careful when you drive since there are way too many accidents in Phuket
