🏟️ The ancient archaeological site of Patara lies between the village and the beach. Here you will find amongst the many fascinating Lycian and Roman ruins, the first democratic parliament building of the world ( the Lycian bouloutrion), the oldest standing light house in the world, recently renovated to its original glory at the entrance to what was once a principle harbour, a stunning Roman theatre, Roman baths and Roman streets.

🥣 The small lokantas and restaurants offer a mixture of traditional Turkish foods, fresh fish and meat dishes. All of the food is freshly cooked to order.

🍹 There are a handful of bars in the village, each has its own distinct identity. Simbar is set in a beautiful garden and their speciality is hand crafted cocktails using fresh fruits from their garden. Medusa bar is known for its amazing music collection and for regular live music evenings.
☕ There are many places to get a good coffee. Aliento offers their own blend of coffee, offers ceramic workshops and is there is a beautiful collection of ceramics available for purchase.
🧿 For gifts there is a wide selection of small gift shops and market stalls selling a mixture of hand crafted and Turkish made products. Popular gifts include the Turkish boncuk/ evil eye, hamam towels, macrame decorations, kelim cushions, hand made glass earings and hand made soaps.
