The Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI) through the Knowledge for Action to End Violence Against Women and Violence Against Children research grant, supports research to improve prevention and response to forms of violence driven by gender inequality in low and middle-income countries – a major public health concern and human rights violation.

Applications are welcome from individuals and organisations on innovative research that will contribute to the prevention and response of violence against women (VAW), violence against children (VAC) and other forms of violence driven by gender inequality in low and middle-income countries.

Grant size: USD 40,000 – 200,000

Deadline: 2 August 2021.

United Nations Development Programme - UNDP SDG Finance Sector Hub supported the deployment of nine SURGE Advisors in response to the deteriorating security and humanitarian situation in the Cabo Delgado region, Mozambique.

The focus of the mission was to establish necessary operational functions, design an integrated program portfolio and develop a SURGE plan to outline United Nations Development Programme - UNDP's vision for response in the region. The plan calls for a two-phased approach which is flexible and responsive to the changing conditions and local contexts.
