🍋 With June looming in the wings ready to pounce on us as the clocks strike midnight, I wonder how it is we got to where we are so quickly. With many reservations at Limon having been made way before this year even started and the closed season having seemed so long, it's all hands on deck with our second group of guests currently enjoying the best of everything that Kalkan has to offer.

🍋 Booking a holiday is very subjective isn't it, just as choosing a restaurant in Kalkan in which to eat is. With so much choice, where to begin?

🍋 Our excellent management company in Kalkan -
Kalkan Property Management has been supporting us at Limon for what must be 5-6 years now. They and their staff maintain Limon to an extremely high standard. As you walk through the door you will see for yourself how immaculate it is. You will find an informative letter waiting for you from one half of our management team, Sharon Uslu, who will have arranged to do a meet-and-greet with you the day after your arrival. Personal service such as this means everything to us. Sharon will answer your questions, provide information, arrange trips including boat trips too should you require it, organise fresh water deliveries and should anything need attention at Limon during your stay, hopefully not, Sharon will arrange to get it sorted. More importantly, should you be unwell, you will receive her full support. I can personally vouch for this one. Never underestimate how important it is to have someone there who can help you at such a difficult time.

🍋 LIMON APARTMENT - PROPERTY OVERVIEW

🍋 Immaculate, modern, spacious accommodation with superb fixtures and fittings and excellent Wifi throughout. Almost a villa but not quite, we the owners, continue to offer exceptionally competitive rates starting from as little as £850 (not pp), per week accommodating as few as 2 people, (we have had two people stay many times especially suited to those who like their space), up to a maximum of 6.
🍋 Three extremely spacious bedrooms, sleeping up to 6 people, 1 king, 1 double & 1 twin size, (which can be made up as a double if preferred), with 4 bathrooms, (2 en-suite, 1 adjacent to the twin bedroom, and 1 cloakroom on the first floor). Comfortable beds dressed in freshly laundered crisp white linen laden with fluffy, White towels ready for your arrival. All towels are provided, including beach towels, for use during your stay
🍋 All bedrooms have ample storage space plus each have individual hair dryers freeing up your luggage space.
🍋 First floor living area with open plan kitchen/diner; with Smart tv and front wrap-around balcony with spectacular sea/town views affording a beautiful spot to chill with a sundowner and relax whilst taking in the incredible views
🍋 Air conditioning throughout and travertine flooring to help keep you cool. The air conditioning system also throws out warm air on those not too warm days depending on the time of year
🍋 All bedrooms are located on the ground floor and each have their own direct access to beautifully kept gardens, (thanks to Firat - our outdoor maintenance man who you may see early morning tending to the pool; sweeping/washing everywhere down as well as looking after the gardens), offering a splash of colour throughout the year. There are also two outside dining areas.
🍋 Stunning infinity pool shared with just three apartments on what is a very quiet complex and more often than not you may find you have it all to yourself as confirmed in our reviews

🍋 I'm about to let you in on a little secret. Well, almost a secret. Those of you who have already discovered our secret wouldn't want me to share it wanting to keep it to themselves but that wouldn't be fair would it.

🍋 What a truly great week it has been folks spending quality time here at Apartment Limon Kalkan, rental licence 07/5726, on Turkey's South Westerley Mediterranean Turquoise Coast. A jewel in Turkeys crown and one of many.

🍋 Our first visit this year, we've walked and visiting many of our favourite places along the way, (my step meter has been going bananas)! Even now, after eight years, we are still discovering new places to visit as Kalkan is ever-evolving with new faces, new businesses and new cafes and restaurants all bringing with them new ideas and, there own special touch to what has already become an extremely diverse destination loved by many.

As we continue to make new friends, we have been welcomed back and embraced by so many of our existing wonderful Turkish friends here that we certainly feel we have come home.

Added to this, spending last night in the company of so many people celebrating at Kalkan's annual street party kicking off the beginning of Kalkan's brand new summer season was absolutely something else. An incredible atmosphere, an amazing experience and very much a feel-good occasion not to be missed. Added to which, there were also some additional celebrations as we discovered Galatasaray won the champions league as fireworks lit up the clear night sky, so did the sounds of the cheers of elated fans fill it. Wherever you may go in this world of ours, football for many, is universal and such celebrations are a joy to witness. 🎉

🍋 For us, Limon is glowing ladies and gentlemen and is all ready and waiting for our guests to arrive and it couldn't look better.

🍋 Welcome to Kalkan and in particular, Apartment Limon Kalkan, (rental licence 07/5726), on what has turned out to be an extremely relaxing Sunday afternoon. Time to chill a while and be grateful for times like this spent in our happy place and we're feeling good. We hope you're feeling good too. 👍

🍋 Currently sitting here listening to a playlist of ELO's best hits following renditions of Robbie Williams, Adele, The Bee Gees plus others, (we love our music & you sure can't beat some of the old hits). The sun is out following a few light, short, sharp showers. We did know it was coming but weather blips can all but be quickly forgotten when spending a much needed break at Apartment Limon Kalkan in good company.

🍋 For those of you wondering, our flight out to Dalaman was full with no hitches. Our pre-arranged airport transfer with a Kalkan-based company we have used for at least 3/4 years now was ready and waiting outside the airport arrival point. We were assisted with our luggage and lead the way to our transport in which we had a pleasant, carefully driven journey door-to-door.

🍋 As many of us who know Kalkan so well have either already visited Kalkan this year, are there as we speak or are getting excited for their return visits to our beautiful place this year, something a little different today from Apartment Limon Kalkan - Rental Licence 07/5726.

Did anyone watch the much-loved, BAFTA-winning series Race Across The World this week? Just in case you didn't, this week, leg 2, the teams researched their best available options as they made their way onward headed for Turkiye. Istanbul to be precise having started off leg 1 in Italy travelling on to Greece and then onwards to Istanbul. Well worth a watch IMO if you get the chance to find it on catch-up or similar, do take a look. Absolutely amazing viewing in the comfort of your armchair and guaranteed to inspire the adventurous explorers amongst you to pack your bags and get out there!

🍋 Speaking of which, we have been in research mode too and decided to take a look at flights and flight prices on Skyscanner for our remaining dates this season and see what was out there. Here are some of the options we came up with for you:-

⭐Available dates - 24/07/26 to 02/08/26

We were able to select various flights to Dalaman from Birmingham, Manchester and various London airports with prices ranging from £252 to 340 pp.

⭐Available Dates:- 05/10/26 to 18/10/16

Once again, we viewed various flights from Birmingham, Manchester and various London airports with prices ranging from £187 to £269 pp.

🍋 Just to help you a little bit more particularly for those who haven't been to Kalkan before. Here is some information taken from an article posted this week on 03/04/26 by Fairclough Travel which describes Kalkan perfectly! (Author's permission sought and authorized for inclusion).

It is not a big resort and it does not try to be. There are no long sandy beaches in the centre and it is built on a hillside, so you will walk up and down more than you might expect. But if you want somewhere that feels different to the usual Mediterranean package destinations, this is where it stands out.

The food scene is a big part of it. Rooftop restaurants are everywhere, and most evenings end up being slower and longer than planned. It is not about rushing through dinner. It is about sitting up above the harbour, taking your time and choosing somewhere different each night.

The beach clubs are also very different to what most people expect. They are not beaches in the traditional sense. Think platforms built into the rocks, with steps straight into clear water, relaxed service and a much quieter atmosphere than you will find in larger resorts.

What I have always found with Kalkan is that it is more about rhythm than activities. Mornings start slowly, afternoons are usually by the water, and evenings revolve around food and views. If you need constant entertainment or a traditional sandy beach on your doorstep, it might not be the right fit. If you want somewhere that feels a bit more considered and less commercial, it tends to work very well".

Major UNESCO World Heritage Sites Kalkan

Anc: anthian Obelisk, which bears the longest known inscription in the Lycian language.

Letoon Sanctuary: Situated just 4 km from Xanthos, this was the sacred religious centre of the Lycian League. It features three side-by-side temples dedicated to Leto and her children, Apollo and Artemis, as well as a nymphaeum that is often partially submerged in spring water.

Nearby Ancient Cities & Ruins

Patara Ancient City: A mere 20-minute drive from Kalkan, Patara was a major naval and commercial port. Key highlights include a massive Roman theatre, the world's oldest lighthouse (dating to Emperor Nero), and the restored Bouleuterion, which served as the parliament building for the Lycian League. It is also famously known as the birthplace of Saint Nicholas.

Tlos Ruins: Perched on a hilltop roughly 30 km from Kalkan, Tlos is one of the oldest and largest Lycian settlements. It is legendary as the home of the hero Bellerophon and his winged horse, Pegasus. Visitors can explore rock-cut tombs, a 2,500-seat stadium, and an Ottoman-era fortress built upon ancient foundations.

Pinara: Tucked into a mountain bowl about 45 minutes from Kalkan, Pinara is known for its poetic, uncrowded atmosphere. It features hundreds of burial chambers "honeycombed" into a massive cliff face and a theatre half-swallowed by the forest.

Extended Day Trips

Myra and the Church of St Nicholas: Located in modern-day Demre, Myra features some of Lycia's most spectacular vertical rock-cut tombs and a mas Roman amphitheatre. Nearby is the 6th-century church where Saint Nicholas served as bishop.
