那趟旅行之後，日本老奶奶寄來了一封信……

但有些美，是因為走過的人，才有了靈魂

很久以前，一對日本母女入住了涵碧樓
老奶奶年近八旬，行動有些不便
一整天，她只是靜靜地坐在客房的落地窗前
望著日月潭的湖面

有時，她會緩緩伸出手，輕輕碰了碰身旁空著的座位……

女兒在一旁紅了眼眶
原來，幾十年前，老奶奶曾與先生在這裡留下了一生最美好的回憶
先生走後，她的記憶開始模糊，卻唯獨忘不了這片湖
這趟旅行，是她心裡最後的願望——「再去一次，再看他一眼」

After that trip, a letter came from the old woman in Japan…

At The Lalu, we record beautiful scenes every single day. But some beauty only finds its soul through the people who once passed through it.

Many years ago, a Japanese mother and daughter came to stay with us. The grandmother was nearly eighty, and no longer moved with ease. For an entire day, she simply sat by the floor-to-ceiling window of her room, gazing out at the still surface of Sun Moon Lake.

Now and then, she would slowly reach out a hand, and gently touch the empty seat beside her…

Her daughter's eyes welled up. Decades earlier, the grandmother and her husband had left some of the most beautiful memories of their lives here. After he passed, her memory began to blur — and yet the one thing she never forgot was this lake. This journey was the last wish she still carried in her heart: *to come here once more, to see him one last time.

That night, deep in the quiet, the lobby piano began to play Teresa Teng's "I Only Care About You". We asked nothing. We only wanted to keep her company in her remembering — through music.

The grandmother closed her eyes, and the corners of her mouth softened into the gentlest expression of the whole trip.

A few months later, a thank-you letter arrived from her daughter in Japan:
"For those two days, she never stopped smiling. She smiled the way she used to, back when he was still here. Thank you."

How beautiful a room is has never been what we are most proud of. What we truly care about is whether we can be beside you, with all our heart, in the moments of your life that matter most.

池畔茶藝館已經醒了

不是每個地方都配得上「靜」這個字

這裡可以

湖面把城市的聲音吞掉

像陶淵明走丟的那個入口

窗外是日月潭 杯裡是另一座湖

坐在兩座湖的中間 哪裡都不用去

第一次聽到竹雞的叫聲

不禁納悶「那是什麼聲音？」

前台總會笑著說：
「是山裡的住客」

清晨的湖面還有霧

陽台木地板還留著夜裡的微涼

那個聲音卻讓人莫名安心

像有人替你

把世界慢慢調成靜音模式

在涵碧樓
自然不是風景

是會陪你一起醒來的東西

The first time I heard the bamboo partridge call,
I couldn't help but wonder—
"What is that sound?"
The front desk would always smile and say,
"Just one of our guests from the mountains."
The lake still wore its morning fog.
The wooden deck still held the cool of last night.
