Part I – The most beautiful station on South-Link Highway - Duo-liang Station.
South-Link Highway is the only way from Pingtung to Taitung, passing by snaked road in the mountain ranges. It used to be many train stations, since there’re many tribes along the highway, but now most of them are not working because of the population of the tribes is declining.
Duo-liang Station is the highest station on South-Link Highway, and is more outstanding for its spectacular sight of the ocean. Passengers on the train won’t notice this scene because the train comes out from the tunnel and soon ducking in. The station stopped working in 2006, but became famous for tourists. When you stand on the platform, you get to have a good look of the red railing with the blue ocean.
Part II – The tribe of Duo-Liang
Above the train station, there’s a tribe which had suffered from Typhoon Morakot, 2009. The storm brought a lot of drift woods, so the inhabitants rebuilt the primary school to a wood studio. Aborigines just have the talent to create an art from woods. Higher than the Duo-Liang station, it takes the advantage to see another beautiful scene of Pacific Ocean. Also, tourists can register for the tour guide of the tribe, leading by the elders in the community.
