#關於杉嶼｜慢慢扎根山與海之間的故事
從小，我就迷戀於拆解文字與數字的過程。名字裡的「杉」，承載了我與哥哥的連結：「林」字取自我的姓氏，「彥」字則是哥哥名字中的一部分。嶼，則延續了山、人與房子的故事，是這座山城中的一個停泊點。
杉木的生長緩慢而壽命悠長，象徵著穩定與持久。我希望「杉嶼」如同杉木一般，緩緩成長，長久地扎根在九份，這座山與海交織的小鎮。屋內木材選用了杉木，延續這份精神，陪伴每位遠道而來的旅人。
杉嶼座落於九份山城，面向基隆山，與山海為伴。保留老屋的建材與牆垣，揉捻舊日記憶與新生生活的對話。這裡是旅途中一個靜謐的停歇，或許只是窗邊的光影，或是投影機上一部老電影，足以成為你心中的片刻安穩。
屋內設有兩張雙人床（可依入住人數加床）、溫暖的沙發區、投影機、餐桌椅、飲水機，以及乾濕分離的衛浴空間。簡單卻舒適，是我們對生活與待客的態度。
在杉嶼，讓時間放慢腳步，感受山海之間的一呼一吸。

About Cedar Lodge | A Story Rooted Between Mountains and Sea
Since childhood, I have been fascinated by the process of deconstructing words and numbers. In Chinese, characters can be broken down into smaller components, each carrying its own meaning. The “Cedar” in the name carries a connection between my brother and me: “Lin” (林) comes from my family name, which means “forest,” and “Yan” (彥) is part of my brother’s name, symbolizing talent and virtue.
“Lodge” extends the story of mountains, people, and homes—a resting point within this mountain town. Cedar trees grow slowly and live long, symbolizing stability and endurance. I hope that Cedar Lodge, like the cedar tree, will grow steadily and remain deeply rooted in Jiufen, this charming town where mountains and the sea intertwine. Inside, the lodge incorporates cedarwood to carry on this spirit, offering a warm embrace to travelers from afar.
Nestled in the mountain town of Jiufen, Cedar Lodge faces Keelung Mountain, surrounded by the tranquility of nature. Preserving the original materials and walls of the old house, it blends memories of the past with the vibrancy of a renewed life. This is a serene stop along your journey—whether it’s the play of light and shadows by the window or an old movie projected on the wall, it promises to bring a moment of peace to your heart.
The space features two double beds (with extra beds available upon request), a cozy sofa area, a projector, a dining table and chairs, a water dispenser, and a bathroom with separate wet and dry areas. Simple yet comfortable, it reflects our approach to life and hospitality.
At Cedar Lodge, let time slow down and immerse yourself in the rhythm of the mountains and the sea.
