Tree Haven Hostel Custodian Job Description

Summary
Tree Haven Hostel is located in Bushenyi District opposite UgandaTechnical College, Bushenyi along the Mbarara-Bushenyi highway. We provide accommodation facilities for students at the Technical College and other surrounding institutions.
We are looking for a competent custodian to join the Tree Haven Hostel team. The hostel custodian is responsible for managing and leading a team that provides services to the hostel. He/she ensures that all students have a comfortable and safe stay in the hostel. He/she makes sure that everything works properly, especially the electricity and water in the rooms and bathrooms.

Duties
The hostel custodian is in charge of planning and carrying out marketing strategies in order to make a name for Tree Haven Hostel.
He/she must ensure that students are comfortable, and their needs as well as complaints are met at all times.
The hostel custodian develops, manages and trains other staff to be able to deliver and maintain quality service to the hostel.
A hostel custodian oversees the hostel’s management and carries out regular supervision.
He/she is in charge of ensuring the utility bills are paid.
He/she makes a database which serves as an inventory of all the things found in the hostel. This helps in tracking which light bulbs, taps or sinks need replacing.

Working Conditions
The hostel custodian will reside on the hostel premises.

Salary
The salary will be discussed with the hostel directors.

Requirements
To become a successful hostel custodian, one must have strong leadership skills. He/she must be courteous, a good problem solver, and must have excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Must possess atleast an A'level certificate or an equivalent.
