Let's talk about Christian business.
Business means - Exford Dictionary -
A person's regular occupation, profession, or trade.
In the Bible there key scriptures that can explain what business is all about.
Gen 42:34(b) - Bring your youngest brother to me; then I will know that you are not spies, but that you are honest men. Then I will return your [imprisoned] brother [back] to you, and you may trade and do business in the land.’ ” Genesis 42:34 Amp.
People have been doing business for thousand years. Genesis 37:25-28 records that Joseph's brothers sold him to medianite traders for twenty pieces of silver. This was not good business deal according to Christian values but anyway the Ishmaelites bought him and his brothers received the silver.
Christian business should be based on Christian values. Let's talk about HONESTY.
Gen14:23, Lev19:36, 2king12:14, prov11:1.
Gen14:23
that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take anything that is yours, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich’—Abram didn't want the ungodly King of S***m to say "I have made Abram rich" Abram wanted him to say "God has made Abram rich" In this case accepting the gifts would focus every one's attention on Abram or King of S***m rather than on God, the giver of victory.
When people look at us [Christian] doing business, they need to see what God has accomplished in our lives and this is possible when have no bad business deals, we should do clean business.
2kings12:14 -15
But they gave that to the workmen, and they repaired the house of the Lord with it. Moreover they did not require an account from the men into whose hand they delivered the money to be paid to workmen, for they dealt faithfully.
Christian business should be transparent because God has called us in this ministry, don't forget that we are serving God as we do business.
