From Garden to Cup

At Casa Del Turista in Mbale, we planted rows of coffee plants along a public roadside tree-planting zone - not to serve directly to guests, but to educate and inspire the public about sustainable practices.

As part of this demonstration, we used drip irrigation with recycled bottles. Water is delivered slowly and directly to the roots, conserving water while keeping young plants healthy - a simple, practical way to show how sustainability can work anywhere.

Our coffee brand, Imwanyi Coffee, is sourced from smallholder farmers on the Mt. Elgon slopes, where we pay a premium price to ensure farmers thrive and continue producing top-quality Bugisu Arabica.

All profits support conservation of black-and-white colobus monkeys and help keep girls in school by providing period products to prevent dropouts.

Coffee is meant to be enjoyed - brew it your way, taste it, savour it, and appreciate the richness of Bugisu Arabica.
