Highlights of Budget reading
1) Uganda's economy has picked momentum, growing at 6% per annum for the last 2 years.
2) Average incomes of Ugandans have increased from US $ 800 (2017/2018) to US$ 825 (2018/2019), amidst increase in population of 39 million people.
3) The share of Industry in the economy is at 21%
4) The share of agriculture in the economy has reduced from over 50% (in 1986) to 22% (2018/2019)
5) Trade with our East Africa Community partners has improved, generating a surplus of US$55m in 2018.
