Kacheera Camp Kacheera Camp is a wildlife adventure camp in south west Uganda only 25 minutes from Lake Mburo National Park.

The camp provides programmes for campers, students, volunteers and researchers.

Who are you likely to meet at Kacheera Camp? 👀

Maybe an impala by the welcome sign. A squirrel sprinting across the bushes. Banded mongooses on the move. Egyptian fruit bats down the forest. Or a waterbuck, bushbuck or warthog quietly passing through.

And if you look up, there are birds to discover.

These are just a few of the neighbours I found while wandering from the hilltop, across the camp land and all the way to the lake today.

Come hang out for a few days. Slow down, discover more on your walks, and meet the residents who call Kacheera camp home.

A small face in the wild. 🐾

A young dwarf mongoose pauses at the entrance of its burrow, alert and curious as it takes in the world beyond. Tiny, watchful, and perfectly adapted to the dry grass and bushes of Kacheera.

Wildlife is not always about the big encounters. Sometimes, the smallest moments leave the deepest impression.

A quite moment in the bush!
Watching giraffes move between the acacia is one of those experiences that needs very little introduction. Just their slow movements, the dry savanna, and the sounds of nature around you.

At Kacheera Camp, we believe wildlife is best experienced without rushing. Simply a peaceful setting where you have time to watch, listen and be present.

Perfectly camouflaged and completely at ease, this Brown house snake rests quietly among the leaves, almost invisible to passing eyes, reminding visitors that nature at Kacheera Camp is always present, patient, and beautifully undisturbed.

The Brown house snake is non-venomous and harmless to humans, helping to control rodents naturally around our camp.

At Kacheera Camp, nature draws near when you stay calm and quiet. Take a moment to sit and simply watch. Warthogs wandering by, birds calling overhead, and the lake and hills stretching out around you turn even a brief pause into a truly memorable encounter with the wild.
