Bayou Rose Cottage One Bedroom Cottage nestled on the banks of the Vermilion River. Queen bed in bedroom and queen size sleeper sofa in living area. Ceiling fans throughout.

Full size kitchen, fully furnished with microwave,washer/dryer, two televisions, central air and heat. Free wi-fi, complimentary beverages and snacks. Continental breakfast each morning. Covered deck that overlooks the river.

Every November, the little Cajun town of Abbeville does something gloriously over the top, it cooks a single omelette out of more than five thousand eggs. 🍳 Chefs in tall white hats gather around a giant skillet in the town square and stir the whole thing with wooden paddles the size of oars.

The tradition comes from an old French legend and ties Abbeville to a worldwide brotherhood of giant-omelette towns from France to Canada to the Caribbean. 🥚 Folks crack eggs by the case, add plenty of Louisiana seasoning and a little cayenne of course, and serve the finished omelette right there to the crowd.

Only in Acadiana would a town turn breakfast into a festival complete with a parade and a party. 🎉 It is equal parts cooking, heritage, and pure community fun. There is nothing like a whole town gathering around one enormous skillet to celebrate who they are.
