We've recently passed the two year anniversary of Hurricane Helene hitting Southwest Virginia, North Carolina, and NE Tennessee.

I took this video on October 5, 2024. Fall colors were barely starting. The visual impact of the debris was beyond comprehension.

The Virginia Creeper Trail was only closed from Abingdon to Damascus for a couple days thanks to the quick work of Town of Abingdon, Virginia team! And, the new Start to the Heart ride was created. The Town has opened a little snack/gift shop at Alvarado Station - the perfect spot to reenergize!

The Creeper trail rebuild from Damascus to Whitetop has made incredible progress and will officially reopen March 31, 2027!! Come ride from Abingdon to Damascus this Fall. It is equally beautiful! (Follow our YouTube channel for weekly updates on various sections of the upper trail!!)

You can walk or ride your bike right from The Oasis Abingdon at 1.3 miles it's a beautiful neighborhood walk or ride most of the way. Downhill and flattish on the way down, a good workout on the way back up! Ask us for our personal 'cheater' route and make it one less hill on your peddle bike!

Fun times at Abingdon, Virginia's 2nd Annual Soap Box Derby races!

Easy to get to at a walkable/bikable mile from Hilltop Oasis Abingdon VA and The Oasis Abingdon! The races started right in front of Barter Theatre!

Thankful we arrived early. A 'surprise' thunderstorm with rain rolled through and they had to call it a day before everyone got to race.
