Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸
Today is the United States’ Semiquincentennial, marking 250 years since the adoption of the document that started it all: The Declaration of Independence.
Two hundred and fifty years ago, a group of farmers, printers, merchants, and lawyers looked the most powerful empire in the world in the eye and declared, “Not today.” They had was an unshakable belief that people have the right to govern themselves...and the courage to risk everything for that belief.
America was built by dreamers, innovators, and ordinary people willing to do extraordinary things. We’ve stumbled, we’ve disagreed, and we’ve faced challenges that tested us time and again. Yet 250 years later, the lights still shine, the fireworks still fill the sky, and the promise of liberty continues to inspire generations.
Tonight, as the sky bursts with red, white, and blue, take a moment to remember what we’re celebrating. Not just our independence, but the enduring promise made in 1776...that freedom is worth protecting, opportunity is worth pursuing, and hope is always worth believing in.
