At Lewis Catherine House, we have a soft spot for both!

Maybe the best girls trip is the one where nobody really wants to leave the house.

Not because there’s nothing to do, but because for once, there’s nowhere else you’d rather be.

Coffee turns into a slow morning in the kitchen. Yoga happens in the barn. A private chef comes to the house for dinner, so everyone gets dressed without anyone having to call an Uber or make a reservation.

You leave just long enough for the kind of afternoon Virginia w**e country does best: horseback riding through the vineyards, a little w**e tasting, mountain views, and a bottle or two brought home for later.

Then it’s right back to the farmhouse.

W**e open. Something good on the table. Everyone in the same room with enough time to actually finish the stories that usually get reduced to a voice note in the group chat.

One of our favorite experiences for guests staying at Lewis Catherine House is a private w**e tasting at Grace Estate W**ery in Crozet, Virginia, just outside Afton.

A beautiful tasting room, Virginia w**es, vineyard views, and the kind of afternoon where you actually get to slow down and learn what you’re drinking instead of rushing to the next stop.

This is exactly how we like to plan a girls weekend along the Monticello W**e Trail: one really good experience, plenty of time to enjoy it, then back to the farmhouse for dinner and the bottle you inevitably brought home!
