Quilt #8 in the Trail of Quilts has been gifted!!! We have an adorable family who rented our short term rental next door, they have stayed 5 months and have 3 kids, the youngest was born 3 weeks after the moved in. Their house search finally is complete and they will be moving, they invited us to dinner. I asked what color would be in their new home living room and choose this beauty from the pile to gift to them. I love giving these to unexpected reciepients!

We love Starbucks and good things always happen at the bucks!! Today the COO Mike Grams and the senior executive Dennis B were in our local starbucks. We have no shame and asked for a picture and he spoke to us a bit about the bucks and we feel qualified to talk coffee...lol! So cool...even more cool...this was random, encounter as they are traveling around checking out stores! What a cool start to our day!

Projects ...so many ideas. I have been making lone star quilts with diamonds, then in a vintage magazine from 1993, I found a scrappy spider web block, and my friend Mary Martin Thomas has been making scrap quilts by color. This is happening!!!!!!!!!! The Ladies at Sts. Peter & Paul Quilting Ladies worked overtime in the middle of a move to finish my Plains and Pine Trailing Star quilt for the church's Labor Day Quilt Auction. The Ladies are hand quilting this beauty and it will be auctioned off in memory of my Grandma, Grace Wichman!!
I'm so happy and hope my Grandma is looking down from heaven and smiling today. I didn't learn to quilt from her but I did see the process as she always had a project going on. Now, years latter I am an avid quilter with a Retreat Center and opening a 2nd location soon. So, happy today!

Sometimes I just sew some 1 1/2 squares..i meet a lady using these small squares as enders and leaders and i just loved the blocks, she sewed 8×8 squares. I used my cutter and have a box of 1 1/2 squares.
