Good Morning Leisurewood! Around 11AM today, the water will be shut off for a major repair, and we anticipate the outage will last approximately 2hrs. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and encourage everyone to make any necessary arrangements before the water is shut down.

Additionally, out of an abundance of caution due to the poor air quality, both pools will remain closed today. We are hopeful that conditions will improve and plan to resume normal pool operations tomorrow, weather and air quality permitting.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these issues. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

🐧 Found: One adventurous Penguin! 🐧

Well...this definitely wasn't on our Bingo card! 😂

A curious little penguin was discovered wandering near the playground in the Grove. Thankfully, this chilly little explorer is safe and sound and has been escorted to the Leisurewood Front Office, where they'll be patiently waiting for their owner to come claim them.

In the meantime, our newest honorary office assistant is helping greet visitors, spreading smiles, and making themselves right at home! ❤️

If this adventurous Penguin belongs to your family, please stop by the front office to bring them home! 🐧❤️🐧

This past Thursday, the Newstead Fire Department responded quickly to a vehicle fire here in our campground. Thanks to their fast, professional response, the fire was contained, no one was injured, and it did not spread beyond the vehicle.

Today, during the 4th of July Mayor’s Parade, the Newstead volunteer firefighters held their annual Boot Drive, and thanks to the incredible generosity of our leaseholders and guests, they raised $2,111.25.

Wanting to show our appreciation, Adult Activities and 50/50 Fundraising Committees have generously matched that amount, bringing the grand total donation to $4,222.50!

To the dedicated volunteers of Newstead Fire Company, thank you for your commitment, your quick response, and for everything you do to keep our community safe. Your service does not go unnoticed, and we are incredibly grateful!!

To our amazing leaseholders and guests, thank you for your generosity and continued support. Your willingness to give back is what makes Leisurewood such a special community.

This is what community is all about.. neighbors helping neighbors! ❤️

P.S. We love and appreciate our friends at the Newstead Fire Department… but we’re also pretty excited to say that Leisurewood is officially the 2026 Tug-of-War Champions 🏆 We’ll gladly take the bragging rights again for the next year!

Great news, everyone! The water is officially back on, which means overnight camping is now open for the 2026 season!

We’re excited to welcome all of our leaseholders back and can’t wait to see everyone enjoying the campground again! Here’s to another great year of relaxing, making memories, and spending time outdoors!

As everyone starts arriving and opening up for the season, please be patient with water pressure, as it may fluctuate over the next few days. We appreciate your understanding while things balance out.

A few pictures from yesterday’s Leisurewood Winter Picnic in Tarpon Springs, FL! ☀️

It was an amazing turnout with great conversation, delicious food, and plenty of fun had by all. Some folks traveled just a few hours from their winter homes, while others made the trip all the way into town from New York which made the day even more special!

A special thank you to Donna for organizing everything and to all of the volunteers who helped make the day such a success! 👏

We even managed to grab a photo of our 2022–2025 Volunteers of the Year — such a great group of people who help make this community so special.

Just a little tease of what’s to come when Leisurewood opens for the 2026 season… Come on Mother Nature, we’re ready for some warm weather! 🌴🌞
