I hope you knew that loving you
was one of the easiest things
I ever did.
You made ordinary mornings warmer,
quiet evenings less lonely,
and somehow always knew
when I needed you beside me.
I still miss the sound of your paws,
the way you looked for me,
and the little place you filled
without even trying.
If love could have kept you here,
you would have stayed forever.
Until I can hold you again,
