Our non-flagged, independent hotel is seeking a front desk person. Ideally, this person would be willing to work any shift when necessary and is comfortable walking the property at any our. The ideal candidate might have desire to make Hospitality their career. We seek a person versed in the hospitality or service industry that has a friendly, outgoing demeanor and demonstrates good judgment making decisions related to guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include:
Registering guests, assigning rooms, accommodating special requests, and ensuring the guests have a pleasant stay and a smooth checkout are priorities. Marketing knowledge and social media skills are a bonus, and you should highlight any skills in your response. Bilingual preferred. Candidates demonstrating a “take ownership” mentality will be preferred.
Duties:
• Greets guests with exuberance. Maintains friendly demeanor with guests and associates.
• Registers guests and assigns rooms.
• Possesses knowledge of reservations system, including booking, cancellations and groups.
• Shows a commitment to be familiar with the property and best rooms.
• Responds to guest inquiries via phone, email and social media.
• Keeps lobby and bathroom clean and tidy: mopping, sweeping, washing windows, dusting etc.
• Manage and resolve all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
• Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Can keep on task while working alone.
• Walks property (including stairs) to check rooms, grounds and show facilities.
• Understands social media etiquette and mechanics to assist in marketing the property (strongly favored)

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous hotel-related experience preferred customer service experience desired.
• Bilingual preferred.
• Ability to work alone.
• Skilled in the use of front office equipment and a computer.
• Knowledge of surrounding areas and local events.
• Ability to understand and adhere to proper credit card, policies and procedures. Able to properly secure guest information.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
