Air Conditioners......As the weather gets warmer, you'll start needing you RV's A/C more and more. Here are a few inspection points to check before the heat picks up and makes a broken A/C unit a bigger problem. While its true that your A/C unit is more or less self sufficient, you should still keep an eye on it and inspect it annually. Start by getting onto your RVs roof and inspecting the plastic cover on the A/C unit for any cracks or sun damage. Be sure to also check that the foam rubber gasket that separates the A/C and the roof is still firm and sealed. Getting water and debris in any cracks or loose seals can reduce the functioning lifespan of your A/C as well as cause water damage within the walls and floors of your RV. Next you'll want to go to your A/C unit from inside your RV and remove the plastic cover to reveal the air filter. This filter can be removed and cleaned with soapy water. While you have the filter off, vacuum as far into the ducting of the unit as you can easily get to. Be sure your air filter is completely dry before closing it back into the A/C. Your A/C keeps you and your family happy so remember to return the favor......Happy RVing!
