PLANNING AN EVENT We are experts in the area having worked with many families & businesses pulling together details for events like Weddings, Family Reunions, Corporate Retreats & Crafting Retreats. While we provide lodging for these events we also bring together local resources for catering & food services, live music, transportation, flowers, event venues & more. LOCAL KNOWLEDGE EXPERTS Throughout that time period we focused on learning about the local area and supporting our local communities from Alma, Wisconsin to Buffalo County to the Wisconsin Great River Road. Our innkeeper even worked for 3 years as the Executive Director of the Wings Over Alma Nature & Art Center and 5 years as the Chair of the Wisconsin Great River Road Promotion Committee. She also manages the local pages and websites for Alma, Wisconsin and created many local travel guides, including the Buffalo County Travel & Visitor Guide. THE BACK STORY Relocating from Washington DC to Alma, Wisconsin is a big deal and 2008 was an eventful year. After purchasing the historic property that is today the Blue Door Inn Alma LLC we renovated for 4 years and then opened a beautiful historic Bed & Breakfast in 2012. In 2016 we added the Cottage at Blue Door Inn, a neighboring Victorian cottage. And in 2019 we added the Inn At Big River Theatre and it’s massive spaces above the local theatre.
