Hi, trail friends,
The weekend is almost here, and your favorite trail is in great shape. There are no closures to report.
The trail crosses Janus Rd. at two places, outside of Sparta. It was seal coated at the second crossing, coming from Sparta. Be advised there may be some loose gravel, as you cross the road.
One of the most common questions we get is, "Where can I buy a trail pass?" So, I put together the following list.
Elroy: Elroy Commons, Kwik Trip.
Kendall: The Kendall Depot, Tunnel Trail Camp Ground.
Wilton: Hardware Hank.
Norwalk: 71 Express convenience store.
Sparta: Depot (Chamber of Commerce), Speed's Bike Shop.
There are kiosks located at Kendall, Wilton, Norwalk and Sparta, at the trail parking areas. The kiosk at the Sparta trailhead is out of service due to repeated vandalism.
Finally, you can buy your pass online, through the WIDNR website.
If I missed anyone, please let me know. I don't want to leave anyone out.
Sunday's weather prediction looks to be hot and humid. Perfect weather for doing the tunnels. They are great places to cool off.
