They told us the steel wall was off the table in the Big Bend parks. They lied.

As of yesterday, the maps flipped. 17 miles of physical barriers and industrial patrol roads are back on the plans for Big Bend National Park

The Big Bend sector as a whole covers 517 miles—over a 25% of the entire border—yet it sees 1% of the total crossings.

It’s 2026. We have the tech to monitor every inch of this border without forever scarring one of the most pristine landscapes in America. A steel wall would drastically impact the environment, local tourism economy, drown our world-class dark skies in stadium lighting, and walls off the best of Texas.

This isn't a partisan issue; it’s one of the few things Republican judges, local sheriffs, and conservationists actually agree on.

This wall is not only unnecessary, but destructive and an awful use of resources.
