When we first bought the Franks house, I stood in this tiny kitchen, looked at all those old metal cabinets and that big old Crosley sink and thought, “Oh my goodness…how in the world did anybody ever work in here?” 😂

I started thinking about Mary Franks in this kitchen—standing at this very sink, opening these same cabinets, preparing meals and going about the everyday business of making a home.

And somewhere along the way, I fell completely in love with it. ❤️

Now I don’t want to take away what makes it old. I want to bring it back to life. This fall…this little kitchen is going to be one of my projects, and I plan to make it a showplace—not by making it new, but by making what is already here shine again.

Sometimes the things we first think need replacing are the very things that end up telling the best story !
