Starting April 1st we're going to try something new for 2026. Since Ticketmaster and the airlines and the hotels have all gone to this model we think it would be good to give it a try. For 2026 we are going to try a dynamic pricing model. Since we're full all summer, we decided to modify it a bit. Every month we will keep track of how many people want sites that we can't get in and then at the end of the month we will divide it by the number of sites in the park and we will add that amount to the monthly rent each month.

Also, I hope you read this far to realize it's April 1st.😂🤣 Happy April Fools day everyone!!

A huge shout out to our amazing guys in the tractor & skid loaders this morning! Brad & Jim got here bright & early to make sure everything was plowed out and everyone could get to work.

As a reminder, we will plow the roads but your are responsible for the snow around your camper & car. So if you're camping at Griff's in the winter, make sure to bring a shovel. 😁

Is it cheaper to live in an RV than an apartment or house?

This is a frequent thing we see in our RV park. People buy RV's/campers thinking they will be cheaper to live in. Living in an RV/camper full time is a life choice but it certainly shouldn't be looked at as a way to save lots of money.

1) You have the cost of the RV/camper.
2) You have gas for the RV or your vehicle which had to pull your camper.
3) You have lot rent in whichever RV Park you are staying in. This can be anywhere from $25 per day to $100 per day. Long term campgrounds can be $500 - $2,000 per month or more.
4) A lot of RV Parks & campgrounds now also charge for electricity which can be a couple hundred extra dollars a month depending on the climate where you are and the fee structure of your RV Park.
5) You have the cost of LP. Depending on your camper/RV your LP can run your stove, hot water heater or furnace. For winter camping we tell people, you have to pay to heat your camper either thru electric or LP.
6) Finally you have repairs. Camper repairs are not cheap and if you have to have a mobile tech come to your camper/RV it can be $150 - $400 per hour just for them to show up.

At the end of thecday, while some people love camper/RV living, it should never be embarked on solely as a way to save money on housing. If you approach it that way you could be hurting financially when the expenses start adding up.

What items / supplies do you need to live in your RV during the winter at Griff's?

- Heated water hose (we heat the water at our water box, you are responsible for everything from the box to your camper)

- Heat tape
- make sure you heat tape the connection from the heated hose into your camper, as that is often brass and the 1st Place to freeze.
- you will also want to heat tape any exposed water lines in the underbelly of your camper

- External LP tanks.
- 1 is good, 2 is better. 2 insures that when 1 is empty you can get it filled and still have heat. If you have 1 and it runs out at 2 am it's a long time of no heat until we open or someone else opens to fill it.
- LP heat (your furnace), heats your walls & underbelly, which is where your water lines are. If you just run space heaters & not your furnace, 1 that's more of a fire hazard & 2 you have a greater chance of frozen water lines.

- skirting for your camper - we do not require skirting but most people who will be with us all winter prefer to have skirting to help with keeping their camper warm. Feel free to give us a call or stop in the office if you have questions about skirting.

Want to RV in the winter? We still have spots open from October - April. What constitutes and RV / camper to be able to stay here in the winter? A bumper pull camper, a 5th wheel camper, a class A motor home, a class B motor home. Your camper MUST have a working furnace (no wood burning stoves of ANY kind are allowed inside campers). If you have questions about your specific rig, give us a call, we are happy to discuss our requirements. :-)

Griff's RV Family: On the 10th of July this man came into our shelter and stole a cat statue that was placed on the fireplace mantle by my late mother. To say I am angry is an understatement. If you know who this person is please email us or call or text us at 515-240-7593.
