Buh Schloss - An Amana Colonies B&B Built in the 1890's & one of the last communal residences built by the Amana Collonists. With 3 guest rooms & ample shared space it is a perfect getaway.

Please be aware all booking is to be done through Airbnb. Buh Schloss (Buh is pronounced BOO & is our family name; Schloss means Manor in German) was built in the 1890's, is one of the last communal residences built by those living in the Amana Colonies. It boasts 5 bedrooms, 4 baths and two kitchens. The upper levels provide the perfect space for our B&B guests to stay, with large bedrooms, bathr

ooms, a full kitchen and gathering spaces. We have multiple flower gardens for your enjoyment over or half acre of land and are within walking distance of all events in Main Amana. Our B&B is in walking distance of all of the Amana's festivals including Oktoberfest, Maifest, & WurstFest. Multiple art & antique shops, two theatre groups, as well as several museums. We have multiple restaurants, wineries, a chocolate shoppe, bakery, & a local brewery. Set back off of the main street our B&B is quiet, spacious & has a ton of usable outdoor space. Reserved parking on site. Pets welcome upon approval. Guests have access to the front landing, second floor including a dining room/gathering space and a full kitchen and third floor gathering space. From our outdoor patio/fire pit you can hear music from Millstream Brewery down the street. Our neighborhood is generally quiet. We are located on a 1/2 acre lot. Festival weekends are a little more hopping as we have the Festhall Barn down the street and the Market Barn across from us, these are both primary venues for food games and activities during the festivals. Festivals: We are within walking distance of all of Amana's major festivals (across the street or across the yard) as well as all the shops and places to eat. Football: We are also conveniently located a little over 20 minutes from Iowa City and the University of Iowa. On game days we do offer round trip rides to Kinnick Stadium for $10 per rider. Golf: Amana also boasts a championship level golf course, visit to view rates and book tee times. We're coming up on the end of another year, and twice in the last week I have been asked, "Do you like hosting throug Airbnb? We've been thinking about it..." And my answer is always going to be the same: Yes! I km now there are always going to be frustrations, and a crazy guest here and there. But over all being able to host people from all over the country and this year the world has been rewarding in so many ways! Full disclosure, this year on January 1 Eric and I will be Superhosts again for the I don't remember how many-ith time and we'll be getting a travel credit from Airbnb. One of the dangerous side effects is craving their amazing products! 🤤 Luckily, Chocolate Haus not only delivers (with some awesome visuals & treats if you buys them!) but they will reward you for your post engagements!? We have so many artisans, craftspeople, artists and a community that is supportive of creativity! If the festivals aren't your speed, and you enjoy the opportunity to walk around looking at the beautiful wares that our vibrant artists have brought to share, stop by this weekend!

Want to go to Oktoberfest in Amana, but not a fan of shuttles? Buh Schloss has the perfect set up for you! A bed, some breakfast, (a bathroom you don't have to share with 5,000 strangers!), a parking space and the best part is everything is just a short walk (think a football field length) from the beer, brats, polka & pretzels! Or, if you really like shuttles, just ignore this post and check out the one below!

Due to a last minute cancellation (omg I know right, how does this happen for Oktoberfest?!) We have one of our queen bed rooms with a private bath available for Oktoberfest weekend!
