At O'Connell's, we work hard to be the best campground in Illinois offering fun that the whole family can enjoy. We want to take a moment to say thank you.

To the first responders, neighboring campgrounds, and community members who have supported our impacted annuals and our campground through this week's flooding, we are incredibly grateful.
Thank you for showing what community is all about!

As a reminder, we are open until 10/15!

We wanted to provide an update regarding conditions at O’Connell’s RV Campground following the flooding event that occurred over the weekend. We are encouraged to report that almost all floodwater has receded, and cleanup efforts are progressing well. However, the campground will remain closed on Thursday, September 24, while electricians work to restore power and the cleanup of the property continues.

At this time, we are assessing campground operations and amenities as the cleanup work progresses. We will notify you as soon as you are able to return to the campground if you have belongings onsite.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Our team remains focused on restoring the property to its pre-storm condition and ensuring that O’Connell’s is ready to welcome guests back soon. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

Over the weekend, O'Connell's experienced significant flooding following heavy rainfall, resulting in the evacuation of the campground. Our thoughts are with all of our guests and team members who have been impacted by this event. Local emergency officials coordinated the evacuation efforts, and we are incredibly grateful for the support of first responders and emergency personnel who helped ensure guests were safely evacuated.

To those who were on-site, thank you for your patience, cooperation, and understanding during a challenging and rapidly evolving situation.

At this time, the campground remains closed, and access to the property is restricted while we assess conditions throughout the park. Utilities, including water, power, and sewer services, are currently unavailable, and guests are not yet permitted to return to the property.

We understand many guests have RVs, vehicles, golf carts, and personal belongings on-site. Please know that our team is actively evaluating conditions and working diligently to determine when safe access can be restored. We will continue to provide updates as information becomes available and will communicate next steps as soon as we are able.

The safety and well-being of our guests and team members remains our highest priority. We sincerely appreciate the support, patience, and understanding of our O'Connell's community as recovery efforts continue.
