Our Industry is changing. Crews are rightfully demanding better working conditions. At the same time, producers are being given smaller and smaller budgets and asked to create more with less. Crews' quality of life as a result of long working days is not sustainable and strained producers can't afford to have their budgets stretched anymore.
As a cinema and studio rental house, we aim to provide crews with well-maintained and fully kitted out tools and resources. We enable filmmakers to create the art that producers expect. We also strive to provide fair and reasonable rates to producers so they can stretch their already strained budgets and provide a better quality of life to their crew.
We've had several discussions with worried producers and crews over the past few weeks. Many have been surprised to learn about our multi-day discount structure. While our pricing is nothing new, our discount structure often gets overlooked or confused with the typical industry standard 3-day week structure. The standard 3-day week model, observed by the vast majority of the film industry, charges full day rates on equipment for the first three days of the rental. After that, you have paid for a full week rental and the remaining days are free.
Enigma 3 uses a tiered pricing system that starts providing additional value on the second day of production. Here is an outline of Enigma 3's Multi-Day Discount structure:
1 Day Rental = 1 Day Rate (ex. $100)
2 Day Rental = 1.8 Day Rate (ex. $180)
3 Day Rental = 2.4 Day Rate (ex. $240)
4 Day Rental = 2.8 Day Rate (ex $280)
5 Day Rental = 3 Day Rate (ex $300)
6 Day Rental = 3 Day Rate (ex $300)
7 Day Rental = 3 Day Rate (ex $300)
Multi-week rentals also give you better rates with our structure. You won’t pay a full day rate on your rented equipment as soon as you hit eight days. Please see our website for more information on extending your shoot past one week. https://www.enigma3.com/resources
We employ an incredible staff at Enigma 3. Fortunately, this pricing model hasn't affected our bottom line; it allows us to support our staff with fair wages while still enabling us to continue supporting creators and innovators. We are so grateful for all clients who inspire us with their work, and for the opportunities we have to help make it happen.
