A new piece of local art is making a statement in our Gallery Lobby. 🎨 👌

This piece by Iowa State University graduate student Ruby Walker is part of her Night Walks exhibition, featuring scenes inspired by various areas of Ames.

Located in our Conference Center Pre-Function space, the piece adds a unique touch to the newly renovated area and gives guests another glimpse of Ames through Ruby’s work.

The artwork is available for purchase, with all proceeds going directly to the artist.

We’re excited to welcome a new collection of artwork to Gateway Hotel and Conference Center. 🎨

Created by Iowa State University graduate student Ruby Walker in collaboration with the College of Design at Iowa State University and Gateway, the collection features pieces from her Night Walks exhibition, inspired by various areas of Ames.

You can find six pieces outside The IowaStater Restaurant and another large-scale piece in the Gallery Lobby. Even better, the artwork is available for purchase, with all proceeds going directly to Ruby.

We’re proud to showcase local talent and add a little more of Ames to our space.

We recently celebrated Bob Bishop's retirement after 41 years as a banquet captain at Gateway. Bob is also the longest-tenured employee in Gateway's history and is well known by our repeat guests.

For more than four decades, Bob helped create memorable experiences for countless guests and became a familiar, friendly face to so many who walked through our doors.

Thank you, Bob, for 41 incredible years of dedication and service. We are so grateful for everything you've brought to Gateway, and we wish you all the best in your retirement! 🎉
