We’re quietly testing something new for Elev8150:
A small, application-only Vanlife Residency at our off-grid mountain build at 8,150 feet near Georgetown Lake, Montana.
This would not be a campground, RV park, or free-for-all camping spot.
No paved pads.
No gift shop.
No one in a golf cart guiding you into site B-12.
And no fake “rustic experience” where the Wi-Fi is somehow better than your house.
It would be a seasonal basecamp for a few carefully selected vanlifers, overlanders, creators, photographers, filmmakers, builders, mechanics, and problem-solvers who understand remote mountain access, self-contained rigs, weird weather, and off-grid life.
Our family lived on the road for 16 years, and one thing we learned is that sometimes the value isn’t just “where can I park for free?”
Sometimes the value is having a cool place to stop for a while.
A place where you don’t have to keep burning fuel every day just to feel like you’re “making progress.”
A place with like-minded people.
A place where the story is still being built — usually with tools missing, weather changing, and someone saying, “This should only take an hour.”
That’s what we’re trying to figure out with the Elev8150 Vanlife Residency.
Before Elev8150 becomes a destination, a few people may get to help tell the story of it becoming one.
We’re still tightening the page and would genuinely appreciate feedback from vanlifers, overlanders, outdoor creators, photographers, filmmakers, builders, mechanics, off-grid people, and anyone who understands remote mountain travel.
