In the event you are headed to Angel Fire or the surrounding area any time soon, here's a list of some of my favorite spots:

Angel Fire:
* Elements at the Country Club - there is a bar area that offers an amazing view at sunset. They often have live music and it's fun to drive around in the neighborhood that surrounds the country club b/c there is almost always a promise of seeing a lot of wildlife. https://www.angelfireresort.com/dining/
* Elevated Pour - this spot is new, but I've heard good things. https://elevatedpour.com/
* There is a food truck in the parking lot of Ace Hardware. I can't remember the name, but they have the best breakfast burritos.
* Mi Cocina Mexicana: Good spot for Mexican food.
* El Jefe: You'll see this at the base of the mountain. Typical bar food and margaritas, but a good gathering spot for folks who have been skiing, and they sometimes have live music.

Taos:
* Taos Pueblo: This is a great experience if you want to learn a little about the Taos valley and its history. https://taospueblo.com/about/
* Walking around the shops in historic downtown Taos is fun if you like that sort of thing.
* Lambert's of Taos: This restaurant has a fun bar space on the 2nd floor. https://www.lambertsoftaos.com/
* Farmhouse Cafe and Bakery - https://www.farmhousetaos.com/ - a great spot for breakfast or lunch. They usually have a wait, but there are a few shops in the area that you can visit while you wait.
* Rio Grand Gorge Bridge: https://taos.org/explore/landmarks/gorge-bridge/
* Spa: This is a great spot for some self-care. https://www.elmontesagrado.com/

Arroyo Seco:
* Aceq - Arroyo Seco is charming but tiny... blink and you literally will miss it. Aceq is a must for dinner any time I am in the area.

Red River:
* Another charming little town with cute shops.
* Red River Brewing Company: Also one of my favorite spots. https://www.redriverbrewing.com/
* Snowmobiling or ATVing: https://bobcatpass.wordpress.com/

It's always advisable to check in advance to make sure food establishments are open before heading that way. Mountain time is a real thing and folks tend to operate on their own schedules, so it takes a little getting used to. :)

The mountains are calling...
