We have dialed in our Autumn weekend rates. October and November are the best months on the lake. When the leaves turn or the first frost arrives, The Sanctuary on Golden Lake becomes pure magic: a private, modern 4-bedroom home with a massive lighted Trex deck, huge screened porch, free-firewood firepit, and a big whirlpool bath tub in the bathroom.

No rocky shoreline — just a wide private sandy beach and calm, no-wake Golden Lake for peaceful paddleboard or kayak mornings.

Perfect for couples, three pairs of friends, women’s weekends, small team retreats, or Trine families. Pokagon State Park’s famous refrigerated toboggan run is minutes away. Shipshewana Amish country, fall festivals, and quiet writing/study days are right here.

We had "visitors" over the weekend. This balloon from the annual Balloons Aloft event was captured by a neighbor across the first basin of Golden Lake (our place is out of this shot, just to the left). We had three balloons come over the lake during the event, a rarity, but this year's winds allowed us to enjoy the event without leaving the lake!

The carpet on the stairs is finally gone! And this new luxurious flooring is now in its place. We are SO pleased to have that beat-up carpet gone and have the stairs be a positive experience for those heading upstairs!!

We are now also receiving our first bookings for Summer 2027. The July 4th weekend will be open for 2027, too. We have a 5-night minimum in place as usual and look forward to welcoming our families and friends back to the lake next summer!

It’s “new to us” and it works GREAT. It’s for two people only, but now guests (with life jackets) can tour the entire lake AND get in their steps for the day.

We have a new surprise for this season! A paddleboat! Lots of fun to get around the lake. Grandkids love it too!!

Returning guests will like the fresh screens and new screen door on the porch, which should keep bugs out (which we think may be an issue this year). Additionally, new carpet is coming to the stairway (MUCH needed!) before the summer season.

We have a few more updates/surprises coming, but we'll save them for after Memorial Day. Summer 26 is booked full, but (so far) all of Summer 27 is open. Better yet, we have mid-September weekends and late October/early November open as well (Terry's favorite time of year on the lake).
