to summer vacation and one of my favorite kinds of island afternoons — happy hour hopping with my sister and brother-in-law. 🍹🌴

We used the AMI Drink & Dine Passport as our excuse to try a few places, including Nautilus Bar for the first time. Such a fun find! Tucked away in a boatyard and definitely off our usual island path — exactly the kind of place the passport is great for discovering. And the view! 🚢🌊

After spending a LOT of time on AMI, I still love having a reason to try somewhere new. And somehow happy hour tastes better when you can call it a scavenger hunt. 😂

If you’re visiting the island, grab a passport and do a little exploring. And if you find a spot we shouldn’t miss next time, tell me! 💚

What if your September workweek looked a little more like this? 🌴

September is one of our favorite times on Anna Maria Island. The summer crowds have thinned, the Gulf is still warm, and a long weekend can ease you into the hectic pace of fall.

Bring the laptop. Work from the house for a day or two. Take a lunch break by the pool. Walk to the beach when you close the computer. ☀️

With a few long weekends on the September calendar, it’s an easy month to turn 3 days away into 5…or stay the whole week.

If you know Anna Maria Island, you know. 💚

It’s not always the big things.

It’s the sea oats moving in the breeze. The color of the Gulf on a random Tuesday. That last little sliver of sun. Stopping what you’re doing because someone spotted a dolphin.

Maybe that’s why we keep coming back. There is so much here worth noticing.

We’ve always had a thing for Anna Maria Island in October. 🍂🌴

A few years ago, we picked the kids up after school, headed straight to the airport and turned a long weekend into five nights on the island.

Groceries waiting when we arrived. Swimsuits on. And then five days of doing what we love most here — beach mornings, exploring, boat rides, manatee and turtle sightings, sunset chasing and absolutely nowhere we needed to be.

One kid was still in preschool. One had just started school. Looking back at these pictures now, this was one of those trips. A core memory before we even knew it was one. 💙

It’s also a big part of why we eventually bought our own little piece of Anna Maria Island.

October, you’ll always have our hearts. ☀️

Summer may be winding down everywhere else… but Anna Maria Island isn’t quite finished. 🌴

The Gulf is still warm. The sunsets are still spectacular. The beaches get a little quieter. And the island seems to slow down just enough to notice all the things we love about it.

There’s something pretty special about quiet season on AMI 💚

Less rush. More island.
