Found these cute containers (shaped like a pencil) this weekend and they are perfect for our snack boxes. Arriving late and want something to munch on, been out all day and want snacks while you are relaxing? They are just $20 and definitely will feed two (or more) people. And you get two complimentary sodas or bottles of water. *items may vary depending upon availability and must order a day in advance.

Well, it is finally here - the last room tour Tuesday. We hope you have gotten a brief glimpse of what our rooms offer to guests. Today is the Brown Room, which is our Life Sciences room. This is the only room on the top floor with two king size beds. However, we still only allow TWO ADULTS in this room. Check out the petrified wood and fossil as well as one of the beds that has a wall from the janitor’s cubicle as the headboard and a painting by one of the tigers at the Crown Ridge Tiger Sanctuary. Room tour Tuesday. Let’s add the White Room, or the Math Room, to the mix. Math was never my favorite but how would we manage our lives without it? During the time of the inn being a school, “old school” math was still being taught. Pencil and paper, multiplication table memorization, slide rules, abacus, and who could forget long division? So if you like a mathematical problem, grab a math textbook from the teachers cabinet and challenge yourself.

Looking for a unique venue to have a work retreat, meeting, training session, fundraiser, family or class reunion, health screenings/blood drives, etc? Need a place for a small event, private work space or pop up event? Our gymnasium venue center is centrally located near downtown Anna, and affordable. Tables and chairs for 200 people, microphones, 4K projector, large screen TVs (or 300 inch drop down screen), high speed internet, use of stage and outdoor deck seating as well as kitchen area with frig and freezer (no food to be prepared on site) all included in rental price. We can also provide non alcoholic drinks, snacks and popcorn machine for additional small cost.

We can accommodate most requests, and this year we are offering limited children events (call us for details)

Room tour Tuesday - the Pink Room is located midway between the lobby and purple room. It can be accessed by five steps down from the lobby or five steps up from the lower hallway. This is one of our modern rooms with a fireplace, larger whirlpool bath tub, and a larger TV/DVD player to watch Pretty in Pink and enjoy a bag of microwave popcorn. This room is not subject themed but instead has some artifacts from our time in India. You will sleep comfortably on the temper-pedic mattress while dreaming of the delicious breakfast that will be delivered to your room in the morning.

“Fantastic B&B in Anna, Illinois
This B&B is truly wonderful. It is an old school building (built in 1910, so very old but giving it a lot of charm). The rooms are actually old classrooms decorated in school things (real chalkboards, books, old desks, etc.) that have been renovated to include A/C, showers (and a tub if you want one) and obviously beds. There are only eight rooms (I think) so limited availability but a place that you should absolutely book if in the Anna, Cobden/Carbendale area. The rooms are quiet and huge! Plenty of room to enjoy the space as it is not simply a hotel room. The rooms have everything you could want and more.

Breakfast was phenomenal! Only problem is that we were only here two days so we only got to enjoy it twice. My wife rarely eats potatoes or French toast, but yesterday she said the potatoes were the best she had ever had and today she ate most of the French toast, again stating that it was fantastic. Breakfast here is certainly a highlight of the B&B!

They have games throughout the building that you can enjoy, including in your room. They have bags of microwave popcorn free of charge to the guests! We had some and it was delicious!

We did not meet Tammy, but Lyle was a fantastic host. He gave us a tour of the building which was very interesting. Lot of history in the building.

One of the more unique places we have stayed, but we loved it. We have family in the area so if we come back, we will definitely stay here again!”
