Foundation work, Day 3. This has been a project of epic proportion. I am so thankful and grateful to Colorado Preservation for their help on this project. I mean it doesn't get more dedicated than the CEO crawling on her belly halfway across the house in the crawl space to run a cord for the construction lights. 😂🤗🤗 This is just phase one of the work that needs to be done. The good news overall is the house is in good condition and the adobe is in great condition. This means I can breathe a little LOL. 🤠
In picture 1, that piece of wood in the front, we believe that that was one of the original support columns. The rest of it is still buried in the dirt under the house.
In picture 2, all that shoring is underneath an unsupported chimney. We did not know it was unsupported until yesterday. 🫠 I will be removing the top portion of the chimney sometime next year to relieve weight on the center beam there.
In picture 3, more shoring.
In picture 4, that's the temporary flooring that will be going down over the subfloor in half the dining room until I can get all of the original oak refinished. And that all has to be done by hand because it is so thin and delicate.

Excuse me! Coming through! Got a package people! 🤠 Raffle prizes, can't-take-it-on-the-plane, and forgotten items are set to mail out on Monday! They'll be getting mailed from Denver which will shorten shipping time by about 3 days as opposed to getting mailed from Antonito.

Vegan dinner for guests last night. Arugula salad with cucumber, tomato, pickled radishes, pickled onion. Vegan lasagna with garlic bread. Vegan apple pear crisp made with local apples and pears. 🤠 I'm not just a pretty face. 😂 I have 18 years of Chef experience. I can work with almost all food requests for breakfast and the occasional special request dinner.
