we built exactly that in Arnold, CA. 3 hours from SF. 90 min from Sacramento. giant sequoias down the road, Murphys wine tasting 20 minutes away, and zero Tahoe crowds in sight.

Summer dates are now open!! Now through September is available to book ☀️💦

We have a ski hill nearby, which our winter guests love, but personally, summer is my favorite time on the mountain.

there's something very nostalgic about Arnold in the summer... days spent swimming at the lake, sunscreen scent on the air later replaced by campfire smoke and laughter echoing through the trees.

There's hiking, movie nights under the stars and outdoor live music at basically every bar.

At our Whimsy Homes cabin, you can find us making brats for dinner and eating outside, before either curling up with a blanket and a bottle of wine on the deck to watch the stars come out or popping on a swimsuit to enjoy the hot tub.

Summer is elite and we would love for you to join us.

Welp that's embarrassing 😂 I guess I have a uniform for this task lol

🌼 is open year round but we always personally stop by in the spring to make sure everything is in tiptop shape for our summer guests.

California's bext Mexican is hidden away in the tiny mountain town of Murphys 🤯🌮

Every time we're at our cabin up in Arnold, we always stop by Taqueria La Cabaña for lunch at least once... and often multiple times during our getaway since it's that good!

It's tucked on the side of the Shell off Hwy 4. Everything is tasty but the enchiladas are my favorite

Everyone, meet Oscar!! 👋 He's our lovely property manager and we're SO thrilled to have him on the Whimsy Team to help you have the best stay ever at the cabin! 👏

He'll be your contact at booking and if you have any questions during your stay. He's also been helping us with tasks like finding a local hot tub maintenance guy, cleaners, etc. Couldn't be opening Whimsy Homes without him onboard! ✨

Oscar is from El Salvador and moved to San Francisco with his family at age six. His professional background is in post-production but Oscar made a hard pivot after his interests in traveling and hosting others led him to managing short-term rentals.

These days you can likely find Oscar with his family in the mountains, riding all the trains that have ever been and trying to stay awake later than his kids. 🏔️🌲🚂
