We're throwing back this Thursday to a fun filled, cars well loved - making memories in Arnold, kind of weekend.

The Arnold Meadowmont Lodge had another successful group booking with the return of the Central Valley Corvettes - CVC club for the Annual Ebbetts Moose Lodge Car Show and Chili Cook-off, earlier this month.

The weekend kicked off with a catered dinner on our patio by El Vaquero Authentic Mexican Cuisine. We also celebrated a member's milestone birthday with a beautiful and delectable cake from Binky Buns Bakery. YUM!

On Saturday, the cars made their way to the show, set against the beautiful backdrop of White Pines Lake. Some members stayed back to enjoy the day on our patio playing card games and enjoying lunch delivered by Snowshoe Brewing Company.

Saturday evening, the club headed over to Bistro Espresso to enjoy live music and a mouth-watering BBQ dinner.

Once again, I am filled with gratitude for the memories and personal connections made while hosting groups at our lodge. - Til next time, Central Valley Corvette Club!

Established in 2004, National Dog Day is celebrated every year on August 26 to honor all dogs and promote rescue and adoption.

How to Celebrate!

Adopt: Visit a local animal shelter to find a new pet. Raise awareness for shelter animals, celebrate working dogs, and discourage puppy mills.

Pamper: Give your dog a long walk, a special treat, or a new toy.

Support: Donate food, blankets, or money to a rescue group or local animal shelters.

August 27–28 brings a dramatic lunar eclipse to the night sky! How much you see will depend on where you are in North America.

During the event, Earth’s shadow will move across the Moon, covering as much as 96.2% of its surface at maximum eclipse. That will leave only a small bright portion visible while much of the Moon takes on a deep copper-red color.

The best views will depend on your location. - Parts of the East Coast and Midwest are expected to have the opportunity to follow the eclipse through its major stages, while observers farther west may see only the earlier phases before moonset.

For viewers in central parts of North America, the timing could allow them to catch the most dramatic part of the eclipse.

Good news: A lunar eclipse is completely safe to watch with your naked eyes. Unlike a solar eclipse, you don’t need special protective glasses.

Binoculars or a telescope can make the Moon’s craters and changing colors even more impressive, but they’re not necessary. So, check your local moonrise/moonset times, watch the weather, and find a spot with a clear view of the sky.
