We're already dreaming of another year gathered within the stones, learning with our hands, sharing knowledge, building friendships, and remembering what it means to live in connection with the land and one another.

Another gathering of folkcraft, bushcraft, homesteading, herbalism, regenerative agriculture, traditional skills, music, and evenings around the fire. Whether you're returning to familiar faces or joining us for the very first time, there's a place for you here.

Earth Skills Revival is about more than learning new skills. It's about preserving traditional knowledge, building resilient communities, strengthening our relationship with the natural world, and passing along the wisdom that will serve generations to come.

Shapeshifters’ Ball 2026

Shapeshifters’ Ball is our annual Costume Ball & Promenade under the Moon and Stars in the Great Stone Circle of Four Quarters InterFaith Sanctuary in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains.

The theme for this year’s Ball is......"Secrets of the Inner Temple" What does that mean? It means that our bodies truly ARE our temples! Let's decorate accordingly! Fancy dress-YES! Costume? YES! Cosplay? YES! Sweatpants? If you must. Because we still love you! Featuring a classic goth/industrial soundscape, special effects (okay, totally amateur effects team here, but we’ll give it our best shot-if it doesn’t work, it will probably be funny!), tasty treats, and great people to dance and prance with!

Wheel of The Year 2027
Call for ARTICLES, Artwork, & Photography

The Wheel turns and it’s that time of the year again! New Stones are Risen. Samhain, Thanksgiving and Winter Solstice are on the horizon. It is time for the Board of Directors, and captive Art Director and Designer Kurt Griffith to retire to our monk’s cells and engage in the annual ritual of assembling the Wheel of the Year for 2027. We have our calendars, event planners, astronomical tables, and even crystal balls, bones, and tarot decks focused on eighteen months out...

We are once again calling out to each and every one of you for your articles, prose, poetry, art, and photography, to make up the 2027 Edition of the Wheel of the Year. You don’t need our permission to write an article – WRITE THE THING and get it to us. Material that we have, we can review and choose whether or not to use. Stuff that we don’t have, however brilliant the idea, we can’t use!

The Wheel of the Year is more than just a calendar of events. The Wheel of the Year is a Member-Driven publication and the majority of content is provided by our members and guests.The more Members contributing, the better and richer a publication it is, year after year. So please get those articles and photography in to us.

So fire up your word processors, cue up Google docs, sharpen your pencils, flap your legal pads, or even dip your quills, and scrape your lamp black. If you have a creative impulse, do go right ahead and indulge it. Just get it to us. Don’t worry about your skill as a writer, our team are pretty experienced editors. We can help slap even the roughest of drafts into readable prose.

When do we need it?

The sooner the better! Soonest is of course best, We have already started looking at the 2027 season and gathering content for the 2027 WoTY. We need plenty of lead time to get to press in a good way, and get the book into your eager hands! For practical purposes, we really need to have your material in hand no later than Thanksgiving.

We’re also looking for good, useful photography. We see people all over at our events with their smartphones out, some of you turn out with pretty nice cameras. If you’ve got good photos, we want 'em! For print publication, we need full size/high resolution images. That means the orignal photos, not compressed ones on Facebook or the web.

Join us for our Samhain Rites, Oct 30-Nov, 2026 at Four Quarters Interfaith. A weekend filled with autumn traditions, fellowship, Rituals, and a little Samhain mischief, including a Community Sweat Lodge, pumpkin carving, The Shapeshifter’s Ball, divination night, a costume parade, and more.

Come gather around the fire, honor the ancestors, celebrate the season, and cross the threshold with us.

Unplug. Tune In. Hold On.

There’s the October Moon Service will be held at Four Quarters this coming weekend, October 9-11, in beautiful Artemas, PA. The leaves are beginning to turn, there’s the bright blue skies of early Autumn, and a snap to the air in the evenings and early morning! I love it!!!

There’s so much going on this weekend, I can’t stand it!!! It’s our very first “Technology Free” weekend. We are going to live without computer games, laptops, and cell phones for the entirety of your stay. We are going to interact with each other face-to-face, hand-to-hand, heart-to-heart, and hilarity-to-hilarity.

You can come for as much or as little of the weekend as you like. Friday evening activities begin at 7 pm with a Ceremony to honor our Beloved Departed, followed by trek “up the Hill” to watch the Draconis Meteor Showers!!! Bring a sleeping bag, or comforter, if you plan to participate in this! We’re gonna go lay on the Stones resting in the Stoneyard to watch, and the Stones can get pretty chilly this time of year!

Activities on Saturday begin at 9 am with a fun and accessible Meditation Class. That will be followed by games, various activities, and a big ole chili feed at 5:30 pm in our Dining Pavilion.

The Main Moon Service will be in our Great Stone Circle at 7:30pm.
Weather looks GREAT!

After Ceremony, we’re gonna roast weenies and marshmallows and I’m finally going to share my “ancestral knowledge” of how to make s’mores that won’t make you sticky!!!

That will be followed by ghost stories, and the mysterious Revelers’ Wake at Midnight. (Don’t bother asking, we’re not telling!)

Sunday Morning activities begin at 11 with a Prayer Circle for Peace, and finally, “The Return of Technology” at noon. (Of course, if you are leaving prior to noon on Sunday, we will give your stuff back, we just won’t want to!

Samhain at Four Quarters brings many things to mind.
Ceremony. Sweat Lodge. Trunk or Treating. Wild Rumpus. Breaking Bread Together.
And the Weather.

In Pennsylvania, they say if you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes, it’ll change.
But I won’t lie here.
Samhain at Four Quarters can get cold. It did last year. We had a blast, but it was truly cold.

For a lot of folks, the prospect of camping in a tent, or even a small camper in the cold is a bit intimidating.

We get it.
And we got it.
So we did something that raised our own eyebrows.
We put heat into both the Loft and the In-Camp Dormitory! (Well, air conditioning, too, but that’s less likely to be relevant at Samhain!)

For so many years we have staunchly heated with wood. With pride. But the weather is getting weird, even for Pennsylvania, and we have made the decision to put the safety and comfort of our members and guests first.

So, there is limited, warm, indoor lodging available for camping now, and for Samhain.

"Remember that we must die", a death cafe inspired gathering space. A seat is open at the table, come talk about Death and Dying with those who tend the threshold. Light refreshments provided.

Join us for an ecstatic ritual of theriomorphic motion. This is a more emotionally intense ritual designed to get participants into an animalistic state and beyond it.

“Being Mean”

I don’t actually get the opportunity to be mean very often.
I have this job, and one of the main functions of this job is to be nice.
So, I’m nice.

But soon, very soon, I get to be mean!

And I’m really, really looking forward to it!

You see, for the Four Quarters New Moon Ceremony on the weekend of October 9-11, I get to take away everyone’s technology for the weekend! All those cell phones, laptops, tablets, little game thingies…if your actual life does not depend on it, I’m taking it. And, by “life depends on it,” we mean blood glucose monitors, CPAP machines, stuff like that. Fact: your life does not depend on your new iphone!

I promise that you get all your toys back when you leave, but not before.

OMG! What will we do for a whole weekend without PHONES???!!!

Lemme tell ya!

We are going to spend time with each other. Outside! In the Woods. By the Creek. With the Stones. Around a Fire! With METEORS!

We are going to tell ghost stories

We are going to sing Camp Songs

We are going to roast weenies, and make s’mores

We are going to eat a great Church Supper

We are going to make Ceremony, under the Stars in a real Stone Circle

We are going to watch the Draconid Meteor Shower-waaaaayyyy out in the country, far from streetlight, or billboard. On a dark Moon. And, it will be dark. (As dark as the inside of a cat!)

We are going to unplug. We are going to tune in. and We are going to hold on to one another as tightly as we need to, until no one feels like the world is tipping away under their feet. We are going to make magic moments, and string them together like pearls!

So, come, let me be mean to you.

You just might like it.

Join us Friday, October 30 through Sunday, November 1 for Samhain 2026 at Four Quarters Farm.

This year, we gather around the theme Death as a Passage: a passage to the ancestors, a passage into transformation, and a passage toward the unseen legacy we leave behind. Through ritual, reflection, community, and celebration, we will honor the turning of the season and the thinning of the veil as we remember those who came before us and consider what we carry forward.

Between rituals in the Stone Circle, the weekend will be filled with autumn traditions, fellowship, and a little Samhain mischief, including a Community Sweat Lodge, pumpkin carving, The Shapeshifter’s Ball, divination night, a costume parade, and more.
