Asheville Canoe House Offering canoe rentals along sections of the French Broad River for full or multi-day options. Asheville Canoe House is owned and operated by Leslie Beninato.

As a graduate of Appalachian State, she has found her home in WNC for over 15 years. It has been a life long dream to operate and own an outfitter. She may be starting small with a pop-up style canoe rental operation, but her hopes are to grow the business into a local outfitter to provide outdoor provisions and canoes to those in the area.

✅Transportation 🚐

🌊After an abrupt end to the 2024 season (thanks Helene), we were nervous about our return. Since winter we have been cleaning the French Broad River and surrounding tributaries.

🛶Come hell or high water, we are here and ready to start the 2025 season with you!

We are committed to this community and feel incredibly privileged to live and work in Western North Carolina. Helene was a huge blow to our business and planned projects for the spring are now taking a backseat. We are hoping to reach $5000 in donations to help us during this time. Due to low water levels, we are cancelling tomorrow’s paddle benefitting 🐾

😊 Fear not! With your help, we have still donated $500 to Asheville Humane Society! We are grateful for your donations and honored to help another local non-profit.

🛶 Join us for a canoe paddle fundraiser on the French Broad River benefiting !
🐕 🐈 🐓 🦎

Date: Saturday, August 24th Time: 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM

Shuttle provided from Craven Street Bridge to Hominy Creek River Park, our starting point.

$25 per participant. Children aged 5-9 may ride in the middle of a canoe, but must be registered as a participant as well.

🐻We could BEARly believe it!

🌅 On one of our recent Sunset Paddle trips, we got to see this black bear crossing the river. We were BEARy happy to have witnessed this. Just one of many varieties of wildlife you can see canoeing the French Broad River!

🛶 Luckily, this encounter did not cause the rest of the trip to become unBEARable, as we kept a proper and safe distance from the wildlife.
