Cycle 7: Feeling Lucky
The number seven is largely commonplace. It’s used to structure mundane things: days of the week, weather forecasts, recommended nightly hours of sleep. But somehow it also carries cultural significance, and enchantment: seven wonders of the world, seven seas, and seven colors in the rainbow. Seven is a symbol of luck and the jackpot on a slot machine. It’s also a cult classic horror film by David Fincher, but we digress.
In selecting Cycle 7’s theme, The Radical’s ownership reflected on how grateful we are to find ourselves in the company of every artist represented here, many of whom have participated in all seven Cycles. We felt lucky, sincerely. Each of the works in this gallery are intended to hold that same feeling. They invite you to pause from routine for a moment of gratitude, and to notice the people that shape your everyday life.
