The Fitz Update: Progress is underway! Excavation and grading now complete with extra special care to preserve the surrounding trees, rhododendron, mountain laurel. Footers, steel and concrete also complete. Next up: Block foundation. We always seek to support the local mountain economy with the many talented Asheville area tradesmen and construction professionals.

The Gatsby Cottage: Guest news!
We are thrilled to host a new, unexpected, mid-term guest, rather guests. An American Black Bear along with her 2 newly born cubs have taken up residence in a pile of fallen trees and leaves below the cottage. We shared the info with the local wildlife resource. They said she did not pose a threat or danger and to provide her with plenty of distance, space and no human contact. She will be there to raise her cubs for 6 more weeks. We are happy to host her this spring with a quiet, peaceful, cozy spot in the forest!
