(June 7, 2024) Detectives with the Major Case Unit of the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office have arrested Samuel Jason Ingle, age 52, of Buncombe County, and charged him with Sexual Activity with a Student. Mr. Ingle was placed at the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $10,000.00 secured bond.

Detectives with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Unit work diligently to address these crimes against persons, protect the residents of Buncombe County, and seek justice for survivors of s*xual assault. Detectives with the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office are attempting to identify the suspect pictured here regarding a breaking and entering in the East Asheville area. Before this suspect entered the home, he attempted to present himself as a pest exterminator.

He has been seen in the Chunns Cove/Kenilworth/Tunnel Road area.

𝗕𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳'𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗗𝗿𝘂𝗴 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗿

(June 20, 2024) On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office Illegal Gun Reduction and Narcotics Taskforce (IGRANT) arrested Terris Fair of Arden for outstanding warrants. During this arrest, IGRANT seized 4.9 grams of Fentanyl, as well as 13.9 grams of Methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia.

After his arrest, a search warrant was executed on two storage units connected to Mr. Fair. Through this search warrant, IGRANT agents located and seized a large quantity of evidence related to identity theft, credit card fraud, stolen property, and the trafficking of stolen identities.

As a result of this investigation and after consulting with the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office, Terris Fair has been charged with the following offenses:

• Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine
• Trafficking Fentanyl Level I
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
• Breaking and or Entering
• Obtaining Property by False Pretense
• Trafficking in Stolen Identities
• 12 Counts of Identity Theft
• Felony Possession/Receiving stolen property

Mr. Fair remains in custody at the Buncombe County Detention Facility and is being held under a $60,000.00 bond.

“The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office will continue to work to dismantle high-level drug trafficking operations in our community,” says Buncombe County Sheriff Quentin Miller.

This person was driving a blue Dodge truck and was involved in the theft of another vehicle.

Update 7/1/2024: After a thorough investigation, Buncombe County Sheriff's Office detectives have determined that the death at Vulcan Quarry was accidental. The individual has been identified, and BCSO is working to notify the family.

On June 24th, the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call regarding a death at Vulcan Quarry. Sheriff’s Office Detectives are conducting an investigation and believe there is currently no threat to the community. This is an open investigation and we have no further information at this time.
