At The Foundry, honoring the past is woven into everything we do.

Located in the heart of The Block, Asheville's historic Black business district, our hotel is rooted in a story of resilience, entrepreneurship, culture, and community. Today, we are proud to honor that legacy by showcasing local artists whose work reflects the richness of Asheville's Black life and creativity 🎨.

This striking mixed-media piece, located within our Workshop Lounge, was created by Asheville native Elizabeth Ivey, a self-taught artist and owner of Versatilities Abstract Art. Look closely, and you'll see inspiring messages that perfectly capture why her work resonates so deeply: it celebrates the stories, experiences, and culture that continue to shape Asheville and beyond.
