Asheville knows how to send summer out on a high note. 🎶✨

The final Asheville Downtown Association Downtown After 5 of the season hits Pack Square Park TONIGHT, August 21, with New Orleans Night, featuring J & The Causeways , Bayou Diesel and a special appearance by the Asheville Second Line. This month’s nonprofit partner is Asheville Mardi Gras . 🎺💜💚💛

There’s a reason Asheville has long been called The Land of the Sky. ☁️⛰️

The nickname traces back to 1876, when author Frances Fisher Tiernan, writing as Christian Reid, published The Land of the Sky; or, Adventures in Mountain By-Ways, inspired by Western North Carolina’s rolling mountains, waterfalls, fragrant forests and blue ridgelines. By 1895, Southern Railway was using the phrase to invite travelers to experience the beauty of the mountains for themselves.

Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at how our Foundry team shows up for Asheville. ❤️

Recently, we organized and hosted a “”Hoteliers Who...”” meetup, bringing together local hospitality professionals to give back to the community we’re so proud to call home. Together, the group packed 46 Crisis Care Bags for Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry ABCCM (ABCCM) and donated an additional $200 to support their work.

For us, hospitality goes beyond taking care of the guests who walk through our doors. It’s also about taking care of our neighbors, supporting our community and showing up when it matters. 🫶

We’re grateful to everyone who rolled up their sleeves and joined us!

Asheville turns up the volume with four days of live music and performances throughout the city.

Grab a lawn chair and head to Pack Square Park for old-time string bands, bluegrass, clogging and plenty of Appalachian tradition.
