We’re throwing back to 1928, when Asheville Supply & Foundry was helping build the city we know and love today. This vintage ad celebrates the power of steel in Asheville’s progress, featuring the construction of one of downtown’s most recognizable Art Deco landmarks: Asheville City Hall.

While the fires of the old foundry have long since cooled, its legacy lives on in the historic walls of The Foundry Hotel and across Asheville’s skyline. ⚒️

Just steps from The Foundry, Triangle Park sits in the heart of The Block Welcome to The Block Asheville’s historic Black business district. Its vibrant mural, created through a collaboration between artist Molly Must, Just Folks and the Asheville Design Center, tells the stories of the people, places and institutions that shaped Asheville’s Black community. Nearly 100 volunteers helped bring the mural to life, drawing inspiration from historical archives, family stories, interviews and photographs.

Stay at The Foundry and take time to wander The Block, where history isn’t tucked away in a museum. It lives on the walls, along the streets and in the stories that continue to shape this neighborhood.
