Long before guests came to Ashland for a weekend getaway, in 1908, this historic home served as a boarding house, a place where people could rent a room and make Ashland home, even if only temporarily.

Imagine the house in its earlier days: boarders coming and going, meals shared under one roof, trunks carried upstairs, and conversations filling rooms that guests still walk through today.

That’s one of our favorite things about Swank Suites (formerly the Anne Hathaway House). You’re not staying in a reproduction of Ashland history; you’re staying inside a piece of it.

And with its location on East Main, generations of guests have been just steps away from the heart of town.
