You can spend fall inside a national monument. 🍂

Green Springs Inn sits inside Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument, about 30 minutes from Ashland, Oregon, up Highway 66, a winding two-lane mountain road. In 2000 this became the first national monument set aside solely to protect biological diversity, and at 4,500 feet fall shows up about two weeks before it reaches the valley.

🌲 The grass goes gold first. Then the oaks and the brush along the creeks color up between the evergreens, and by November the fog and the snow move in. Every one of our cabins has a wood-burning stove and a deep soaking jacuzzi tub, so a cold day in the Monument ends by the fire.

Hike the name on your cabin door. 🍂

Four fall hikes near Ashland, Oregon, inside the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument: Hobart Bluff, Soda Mountain Lookout, Boccard Point, and Pilot Rock. Each one shares its name with one of our cabins, and all four trailheads are 20 to 45 minutes from our driveway.

🥾 Fall runs early at 4,500 feet. The first frost reaches us about two weeks before it reaches Ashland, and by November snow can close the high trails. October is usually the window.

A general r***e season is open every day from October 3 to November 13, 2026, around the inn and three of these trails, so wear something bright. Start early and carry a headlamp.

Then come home to a wood stove and a jacuzzi tub on the deck. 🔥
