We are rapidly approaching fishing season here on the North Coast. The Walleye Capital of the world. Hideaway is very lucky to some of the best charter captains on the Great Lakes make us their summer home.
If you are looking to fill your freezer and have a blast doing it make sure to book with one of these great guys. You won’t be disappointed! For the months of June and July if you have a charter with any one of these Captains you will receive 10% off your nightly stay here at Hideaway!
Captain Art Miller pilots the Lucky Strike/ Bring it on boats. Art was a long
time resident at Hideaway and is a great friend. You will not find a nicer guy.
Captain Dale Grimm with Special Eyes charter has been with us a few years and has several boat options. You will not be disappointed choosing Dale!
Captain Frank McConahy has camped with us for several years also. Although new to the charter business he’s not new to fishing. Cranky Frankie always has a full cooler when heading into the fish house!
Give anyone of these great Captains a call but don’t hesitate as I’m sure their schedules will be filling up quick.

Opening day! Welcome back! The weather may be a little damp and chilly but we are excited to have everyone with us again. Please stop in the office and get your 2026 car pass and activity sheets. The office will open at 9:30am. The grounds are wet and soft from all the rain we have received so please keep all cars and golf carts on the roads and off the grassy areas. We are looking forward to a great 2026 season we appreciate each and every one of our campers!

The gate will be operational on Sunday April 26th 9-5 for a lot clean up day. Utilities are on. The office will not be open. This is strictly a clean up and prep day. No overnight stays until opening day May1. With the rain predicted for tomorrow the grounds may be soft. Please keep all vehicles and golf carts on the road. My favorite saying “stay off the grass!” Lots of work has been going on to get everything cleaned up it was a rough winter. Thank you Shannon, Carl, Carol, Oren, Scott, Phil couldn’t do it without you!

80*October weather and a huge crowd of the best campers any owner can ask for set the stage for a wonderful end of season fish fry/dinner! Our biggest crowd ever supplied some great dishes to make it an awesome dinner! Thank you to all that attended! Our great staff of volunteers made it possible to serve 650 pieces of fish and 50 # of fries in little over an hour! Great job! As an added bonus new seasonal camper Rich Woodworth shared his surprise 60th birthday party for his wife with us and Huffman Acoustic band entertained everyone! What a great night!

Our Halloween themed Paint and Sip with Chris was a great time! Beautiful weather for a relaxing, fun painting class! Thanks for all that attended. A big thanks to our artist Chris for coming out to us and teaching us your artistic tricks! We appreciate you and can’t wait for next season! 🎃👻🎨

Once again former Hideaway camper Art Miller and the Lucky Strike crew put us right on top of a huge school of big walleye! Yes, we will be having our annual end of season dinner/fish fry!! These guys make it look easy! Ken Severino, Rick Ohler, Jeff Wiles, my future son-in law Ricky and Shannon and I did the reeling! Thanks Art and Rick! This trip is more than fishing it’s time spent with a great longtime friend! Always a blast!

It’s always an awesome day when you can get 165 friends together for a few hours and have a great time! 10th annual campground crawl is in the books! And it was a great one! 16 awesome stops made for all the fun! Great dinner followed it all up. Thank you Guyreinos Deli and Jd’S pizza for the yummy food! There might be a few headaches today but everyone survived!

So thankful for our wonderful campers that put on some great events this Labor Day Weekend!! This is the one weekend that Shannon and I get to enjoy some of the fun with everyone else! And oh boy it was fun! Pam and Rick Ohler put on a great scavenger hunt I don’t know how Pam can come up with these clues but it is amazing! Mr. Phil Murphy and his amazing wife hosted the golf cart rodeo once again after a brief hiatus. It was probably the best ever! Driving with the beer goggles on was definitely a challenge! Great job everyone! Phil, Mona, Rob and Jen, Carl and Carol, Calvin and Daisy and several more contributed to the fun! I hope it is here to stay for a few more years. We were lucky enough to have 2 co****le tournaments on Sunday. The competition keeps getting tougher every year! Thank you to everyone that spent the weekend with us! We appreciate each and every one of you!!
