Gorsuch Haus submitted its Detailed Project Review land use application as part of the Lift One Corridor development plan. The Lift One Corridor plan was approved by voters in March 2019, supporting two lodges, new ski facilities, a ski museum, a public park and plaza at
Dean Street and lift access to the west side of Aspen Mountain from town. The submission of the Gorsuch Haus application brings the vision of a new Lift One Corridor one step closer to reality.
Located at the top of South Aspen Street, Gorsuch Haus is one part of a collaborative effort that also includes the Aspen Historic Society, City of Aspen Parks Department, Aspen Skiing Company and the developers of Lift One Lodge. With City of Aspen Community Development leadership, this stakeholder group worked together to create a ski and lift corridor that extends Lift 1A down
to Willoughby Park at Dean Street. The plan calls for a new lift that loads at the same site as Lift 1 did from 1946-71.
