Today, The James Beard Foundation announced the 2022 Restaurant and Chef Awards semifinalists in advance of the returning James Beard Awards® presented by Capital One.

The Little Nell was named to the list for Outstanding Wine Program. This is truly an honor to be named among the top 20 wine programs in the entire nation - a testament to our wine team led by Chris Dunaway with Jesse Libby, Jon Koch and Rachael Liggett-Draper, as well as our entire team at The Nell. We look forward to the news of the next round of nominees, announced March 16.

Congratulations to all of our fellow semifinalists and thank you to all who voted for us and join us for wining and dining at The Little Nell.

Celebrating a lifetime employee, Barbara Romero who is retiring after 32 years at The Little Nell. Thank you for your dedication and service all these years - you will be missed by all!

Today we honor Barbara Romero for her tenure at The Little Nell as a public areas attendant since the very beginning of the hotel. For the past 32 years, she has walked an average of 9.1 miles a day, totaling 106,514 miles. She has stocked and loaded our living room fireplace with 6,254 cords of wood. She's currently up for a Stars of the Industry award, nominated for her service and dedication. She's "irreplaceable" says our general manager Jonathan Fillman and repeat guests will be looking for her upon visits, but can rest assured that she's happily retired, spending time with her family including three grandchildren. Thank you, Barbara!

Celebrating + honoring engineer Thomas Rittenhouse for his sixteen-year tenure at The Little Nell. He has built nearly everything here - from the private booths at Chair 9 - to the wine cellar’s wine box-lined ceilings, walls and shelves - to the support system for the living wall in the summer - to an open fire pit for Chef Francis Mallmann when he was a special guest chef at The Nell. And more... Thank you, Tom. You have made a mark and we hope you’ll come back soon and often!
